Labrador Sea AOI Study

East Canada Post Well Analysis Study (PWA)

TGS has completed a sequence stratigraphic and play fairway analysis interpretation study integrating the TGS/PGS Labrador Sea seismic data and available well data for all E&P wells in the region (31 wells).

This study is delivered in TGS’ Facies Map Browser (FMB), a user friendly desktop browser that allows a range of visualiza-tion, manipulation and data analysis tasks.

TGS has completed a seismic interpretation study based on the TGS/PGS South Labrador Sea seismic data. This focussed study supports the NL01-LS licensing round providing a geological overview of the area and provides a catalogue of potential exploration targets.

TGS’ Post Well Analysis (PWA) is a Geodatabase that includes a basin wide study of the most critical exploration success factors of 101 E&A wells, including effectiveness of reservoir, seal, trap and source rock. It analyses the key reasons for suc-cess or failure of all prospective intervals encountered at the well, integrating open source data with Geological and Basin modelling, Seismic Interpretation, Petrophysics and Geochem-istry. The results are summarized using the TGS Exploration Success Score system.

The PWA can be delivered as a standalone geodatabase with a proprietary toolbar that allows users to perform numerical and spatial data analysis.

Users of the TGS Facies Map Browser can take advantage of our specially developed plug-in to combine the Sequence Stratigraphic framework, paleofacies data and Play Fairway Analysis with the Post Well Analysis database to give a unique perspective on the petroleum system and insight into the ex-ploration potential of the basin.
