Hand signals for tower crane operations Page 1 of 2 If hand signals are used between a signaller and the operator of a tower crane to control hoisting operations, the follo wing signals should be used: TG 08-01 STOPHOISTTROLLEY OUTDOG (STOP) EVERYTHING LOWER TROLLEY IN SWING Arm extended, point in direction of swing of boom. Clasp hands in front of body. Arm extended, palm down, move hand horizontal. With forearm vertical, fingerpointing up, move hand in small horizontal circles. Both fists in front of body, with thumbs pointingoutward. With arm extended down, move forefinger; pointingdown, move hand in circles.
