1 ST. PAUL HIGH SCHOOL Textbook List – 2017 – 2018 School Year General Purchasing Instructions PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY! IMPORTANT: STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE THEIR NECESSARY BOOKS PURCHASED BY THE START OF SCHOOL. TEACHERS MAY ASSIGN WORK FROM THESE TEXTS IMMEDIATELY AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASSES. TEACHERS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR STUDENT GRADES THAT MAY BE AFFECTED BY LACK OF A TEXTBOOK. (Teachers are not required to make photo copies of textbook pages for students who do not have a textbook.) If purchasing textbooks is a financial problem, please contact the Principal, Mrs. Kate Aceves. Please be very careful that you are not purchasing the Teachers’ Edition of any textbook. Generally a Teachers’ Edition is indicated by the letters “TE” after the title or by the words “Wraparound Edition”. Do not purchase these. Any Student with a Teacher's Edition of their textbook will have the book confiscated and not returned. If a text is marked as “NO NEED TO PURCHASE”, do not buy that book. In these cases no textbook is needed or it will be provided in class or it will be digital. If a book is marked as “NEW”, do not purchase a used copy from another student, since it will need to be an updated edition. Textbooks may be purchased from a variety of websites. Wherever you choose to purchase your books from, be sure you have the correct edition and that it is a Student Edition. Last year, suggested websites were provided in this document. They have been removed this year because availability of books changes quickly on websites and the links provided become misleading or unhelpful. Suggestions: check Amazon and also used textbook websites as well as the actual publishers. The only website links provided are in the case of purchasing directly from the publisher. The Used Book Sale Day will be announced at the beginning of August. This is an opportunity to purchase used books from students who had the book last year. NOTE: Consult the book list carefully as some texts will now be available only through the iPad, some are discontinued, and some are new this year. Do not purchase last year’s version of those texts.

2 MATH TEXTBOOK BUY BACK! – Since we are discontinuing the use of textbooks in most of our Math classes this year, St. Paul High School will be
buying back lightly-used editions of the following textbooks in order to create class sets:
- Algebra 1
- Geometry
- Algebra 2
- Pre-Calculus
- Calculus
Textbooks must be in good condition. We will stop the buy back when we have reached the number needed.
International Students: Please order your books before you come to school in the United States. Have the books sent directly to yourself in your home country and bring them with you. Or, have them sent to the address of your home-stay family in the United States. Let them know that your books are coming to them. Also, International Students who are assigned to be in the US History ELL course or the Religion ELL course will receive their book lists after arrival in the US. If you have any questions, please contact the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction – email is the best way.
