Our first night of lodging is in Festus, MO, and then on to Texarkana, TX. B Day 3, Monday This morning we visit the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, America’s 13th Presidential Library and Museum in Dallas. With its state-of-the-art interactive exhibits we get an in-depth look at eight years of American history. We continue on to the Sixth Floor Museum for an interesting exhibition on the life, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Our accommodations for tonight are in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. B Day 4, Tuesday Our arrival at the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District shows us that the Old West is still alive. We’ll see a real Texas Longhorn Cattle Drive down Exchange Avenue along with a tour of the Stockyards area. Following lunch, we visit the Dr. Pepper Museum in Waco. A historical perspective of Dr. Pepper and its creator is explained through memorabilia and displays in addition to a working soda fountain treat. B, L Day 5, Wednesday We begin our morning at the Visitor’s Center of the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Park. The center chronicles LBJ’s life, accomplishments, and also features a tribute to Lady Bird Johnson. A chuckwagon lunch awaits our arrival at the Y.O. Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. This working ranch of 40,000 acres offers the country’s largest collection of exotic wild animals. Our day is complete as we arrive in San Antonio for a two night stay along the famed San Antonio River Walk. B, L Day 6, Thursday Highlights of the day include a visit to The Alamo, established in 1718 as the city’s first mission.
