•Last semester I joined a team of six crazy undergrads who attempted to tackle a challenge of building a supercomputer on the power of three coffee makers. After a lot of late nights, a lot with no sleep, and months of working with software packages I've never heard of before, we managed to set the highest performance record in the history of the competition and come in 2nd overall out of 8 teams.

•Advice for incoming freshman•Take advantage of EVERYTHING on the UT campus - you're paying for it!

•Something unique that many people might not know about you

•Survived crazy science experiments as a kid like mixing bleach and ammonia, igniting black powder and cooking a hot dog in a wall socket

•My greatest accomplishment here at UT was to start and finish in the engineering program, even when a lot of my friends that I started with quit. I was tempted many times by the business school, but regardless of how may times I stayed up late, cried and claimed to hate engineering, engineering still has my heart.

•Advice for incoming freshman•Work hard now so you don't have to work as hard later.•Don't let a few failing grades make you feel inadequate, just work hard to improve and remember that failure makes you appreciate success even more (just don't accept failure).

•Something unique that many people might not know about you• I just ran a 10K after not being able to run 1/4 of a mile in

January, my goal is to run a half marathon in the near future!

So know where your resources are (even if that resource is a person or office that knows about every resource)•Goal should not just be getting a job…It should be to succeed (You truly need technical and soft skills to succeed in your future position as an engineer)
