Revisions:

The following code may be used for courses designed and provided through an individualized education program (IEP) that have been determined by an admission review and dismissal (ARD) committee as an appropriate substitute for a high school course that meets state graduation requirements. This code may only be used for students who entered grade 9 prior to the 2011-2012 school year.

No substitutions are allowed for required high school courses for students receiving special education services who entered grade 9 beginning with the 2011-2012 school year; therefore, 9 codes should never be used for these students.

For students who enter grade 9 in or after the 2011-2012 school year, high school courses other than those with an EOC exam that have been modified in content as a result of an ARD committee decision for a student receiving special education services should be coded using the standard code. For elementary and middle school students receiving special education services, courses in the required curriculum that have been modified in content as a result of an ARD committee decision should be coded using the standard code for the subject area at the designated grade level.

This code can be a combination of letters and/or numbers, but the code must begin with the number 9 (9XXXXXXX).

Revisions:

The following codes are for use with locally developed courses, including courses at the designated grade level that are available to students receiving general education and/or special education services

The following code may be used for courses designed and provided through an individualized education program (IEP) that have been determined by an admission review and dismissal (ARD) committee as an appropriate substitute for a high school course that meets state graduation requirements. This code may only be used for students who entered grade 9 prior to the 2011-2012 school year.

No substitutions are allowed for required high school courses for students receiving special education services who entered grade 9 beginning with the 2011-2012 school year; therefore, 9 codes should never be used for these students.

For students who enter grade 9 in or after the 2011-2012 school year, high school courses other than those with an EOC exam that have been modified in content as a result of an ARD committee decision for a student receiving special education services should be coded using the standard code. For elementary and middle school students receiving special education services, courses in the required curriculum that have been modified in content as a result of an ARD committee decision should be coded using the standard code for the subject area at the designated grade level.
