Scenario Elements• District Concentrator (DC)

– Equipped with W M-BUS, Wi-Fi, 5G and Zigbee

• Building Concentrator (BC)– Equipped with W M-BUS, Wi-Fi and Zigbee

• Bus – Equipped with Wi-Fi and Zigbee

• Car (driver)– Equipped with Wi-Fi and 5G

• People– Equipped with Wi-Fi and 5G

Page 9: Testing and solving the Wi-Fi Interference on Zigbee Partner: NEC Germany

DTN• Smart Building  Each building is equipped with smart devices in order to monitor the     consumptions in terms of gas / electricity / water.  A Building Concentrator (BC) gathers data from devices in the building     and then it has to send them to the District Concentrator (DC).  A point-to-point connection between the BC and the DC will be present      through wireless M-BUS at 169 MHz, however being the density of DCs    much lower than the density of BCs, an alternative link will be created by      exploiting the presence of objects moving in the city (DTN paradigm).

• Objects– Buses, Cars and People may act as mules, to help BCs to reach one DC

Protocols for the IoT: metrics and traffics

16

• Traffic: Query-based APPs– Unicast – Broadcast – Multicast

    • Metrics:

– Average delays – Overhead– PER
