Explain why the sun shines.
1.Give the name of the process
2.identify where it happens
3.the conditions that cause it to happen
4.identify what’s turning into what
5.how long it takes energy get to the surface
6.how long it takes to get to Earth
The sun shines because of a process called nuclear fusion. Extreme heat & pressure in center of sun pushes hydrogen atoms together. The hydrogen atoms combine to form helium atoms & energy. After a million years or so, the energy reaches the surface of the sun
From there, it takes about 8 minutes to reach Earth’s surface.
