If you’ve been to a PRETTY FLY SOCIETY event you would think that it was run by a group from Houston, Atlanta or maybe even Vegas, hell even New York. You would probably even think that 30 people were behind making these parties as memorable as they have been. If you are unaware of who these guys are, in the words of Kevin Hart “You gon’ learn today”.

Pretty Fly Society Lifestyle and Entertainment Group consist of fashion forward, chic individuals who are the leading trendsetters in fashion, and entertainment. Established in March 2011, based out of Charleston, SC, Pretty Fly Society has set a penchant of creating innovative, elegant, and refined events in exclusive venues for their fashionable and sophisticated clientele. Pretty Fly Society inspires individuality by expressing a unique sense of style in a world of fashion. They are trendsetting by all means.

I arrived at their central meeting location they call the “PFS Palace”. Walking into the area where I would have the interview, you can tell that their bond and friendship is strong from their quarky mannerisms to the type of advice they give to each other. Even in a very chill atmosphere, work is still being done on current and new projects. After watching their favorite movie Paid in Full with them, I got a chance to talk to them about the beginning of Pretty Fly Society and their goals for the future.

ISO WHERE ARE YOU GUYS FROM?Jon: Cincinnati, OHBrandon: VirginiaTom: Cleveland, OH Andrew: Beaufort, SCSherard: Charleston, SCQuentin: Georgia and Florida. I’m pretty much from both.

HOW DID YOU MEET?Jon: We always crossed paths. It started off as two companies doing the same thing; Established Gentlemen and Fan Club. We linked up with Fan Club and The SC Movement and established Pretty Fly Society. We met at a party and went from there.

WITH SO MANY OTHER ENTERTAINMENT GROUPS IN THE AREA, HOW DO YOU STAY RELEVANT?Jon: We have unique marketing techniques. We take advantage of social media. Established Gentlemen and Fan Club both marketed towards different groups. Fan Club focused more on the college crowd, while Established Gentlemen got people to dress up and come out to a more laid back, upscale atmosphere. The SC Movement is the driving force behind the promoting and marketing that goes into Pretty Fly Society.

IF YOU WEREN’T DOING THIS WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING? Brandon: I would be coaching High school football.Andrew: I would still be in school full time.Tom: In school full time and coaching part-time and pursuing a coaching career starting off with high school and then college.Sherard: Still pursuing my career and design and marketing.Quentin: Pursuing my modeling & fashion careers as well as cutting hair. #DopeLacerationJon: Still pursuing my career in computer engineering, and business ventures.

WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED OUT DID YOU THINK PFS WOULD BE THIS BIG?Brandon: Yes.Quentin: At some point yes, but not as quickly as it did.Jon: I knew we would be big eventually, with hard work but I didn’t really see us taking off as quickly.

EVERY ONE OF YOU BRINGS SOMETHING UNIQUE TO THE TABLE. WHAT ARE SOME OF THOSE THINGS?Sherard: I bring the visual look of Pretty Fly Society. I take the time to think about how it’s going to look to others and implement that to every design that’s created.Brandon & Tom: We manage the social networking aspect of the group and try to make our parties as diverse as possible. We do whatever it takes to get a crowd.Quentin: I bring my creative vision for fashion to the group assisting with the overall look of the group as a whole.Andrew: I bring the promotion aspect to the group. I am the face of PFS on college campuses.Jon: I bring the business aspect to the group, making sure everything stays on track.

GOALS FOR PFS?Impact and change the culture of Charleston and other surrounding areas, take away the negative stereotypes of the nightlife and bring a different experience. PFS

FASHION

‘Tis the Season

A lot of people have some great versatility in their dress style, but when preparing for the winter season, many face the difficult task of treading the inclement weather in style. The brutal conditions of the winter often times cause many to sacrifice being fashionable. Our guide on do’s and don’ts prepare you for the treacherous winter season while maintaining style. No matter the conditions of the weather, our motto remains “IN ALL THY WAYS STAY FLY”.

THE DO’S ANDDON’TS

FASHIONABLETO BE

classic winter hat hiking boots scarves winter style bootsA classic winter hat to your wardrobe adds a fashionable look to your outfit while maintaining warmth when facing the extreme weather of the winter.

A leather hiking boot is a very versatile asset you must add to your wardrobe. It adds a stylish look to your footwear, and its built to handle all inclement weather.

Scarves are meant to be wrapped around the neck, so make sure to wear them with style with your outfit. For instance, fold the scarf lengthwise and pull the two ends through the loop created on the opposite side.

Refrain from falling victim to purchasing the bulky UGG boots. Although a great footwear item to stay warm, there is nothing stylish about the bulky boot. Try adding the following: wingtip boots, hiking boots or Sorel boots.

Fitted wool suit with necktie

Camel over coat

Stylish knee-high winter boots

Cotton winter coat

Classic neck scarf

Let’s get this out of the way: The Lab Junkyz are Charleston’s hottest rap group by far. They have a flashy yet edgy fashion style that obviously matches their musical ability. From their dread lock hair swinging

as they rock the stage to the shoes that match their persona, the Lab Junkyz’ Lil C Mommie and Mel Milli sure do know how to make the party Bounce just like their hit single. Regardless of their actions on stage, these Charleston natives are both humble musicians awaiting their time to shine just like any artist, but that is their drive and motivation to stage in the booth and deliver their fans with great music and futuristic style.

How did you come up with the name “Lab Junkyz”?Lab Junkyz came from us being in the studio all the time. We were always stuck in the studio at all times of the day because we were fiends for the music. We grind all day and night perfecting our craft in order to achieve the sound and style we have now. We want to give you good music that you can get addicted to.

When did you realize that rap was for you?Lil C: About the age of 16, I met a dude name Thomas Dotchery that allowed me to freestyle a little bit for him. He was amazed with my talent, and put me in the studio to drop a song. People started liking and reacting to my song, so I started recording more songs that people would enjoy. I joined a group called Too Real back in high school, but we split ways. Then I met Mel and formed Lab Junkyz. We started making songs that’s just so different from all the rest.Mel Milli: Since the age of 15, I was rapping and improving on my craft. I knew this was something I wanted to pursue when my first song Make the DJ Go hit the radio. I felt like I made a huge accomplishment in life, and would like to continue.

Who are your influences musically?Lil C: Juelz Santana. I have always been a fan of Juelz and listened to his music. His From Me To You album really inspired me that I listened to it straight through. Mel Milli: Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Usher, and Michael Jackson

Who would you like to work with?Travis Porter, Roscoe Dash, Wiz Khalifa,

Drake, Justin Timberlake, Big Sean, Swizz Beatz, and Wale. What are your upcoming projects? We are working on the official album called No Rehab with Mantis, who is a songwriter, vocal coach, and producer in Columbia, South Carolina. We just dropped the Get Addicted mixtape to have people excited for our official album. No Rehab will be a new turn for Lab Junkyz that the people will not be ready for. We are shooting far left with this one instead of the Bounce record that everyone is use to hearing from us. We are ready to shed light on this new uncharted territory and give Charleston and the surrounding areas a new flavor of music. Pick up our music on iTunes, Datpiff.com, Reverbnation.com, or even Google us!

How can you describe something different that people do not know about Lab Junkyz? We’re humble. People don’t know that we both are humble. We are not superstars, and even if we were all we are trying to do is make it out here for ourselves and Charleston.

Any last words to your fans?LAB JUNKYZ MUZIKKKKKKKK!!!!!GET ADDICTED B*%%^$! [laughs] PFS
