The tour price of $5,995* is based on a minimum of 30 passengers. Cancellation of the pilgrimage is possible if fewer than 30 sign up. ACCOMMODATIONS: Pilgrims stay in first class hotels, based on double occupancy with private facilities. Single room supplement is $940, based on availability. MEALS: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided as indicated in the itinerary. TIPS AND TAXES: Extra costs normally appearing on hotel and restaurant bills as “services” are included in tour price, as are all government and local taxes on hotels and meals. Airport fees, departure taxes and fuel surcharges are not included, and will be billed at time of ticketing. SIGHTSEEING: Travel will be by modern, air-conditioned motor coach, including services of English-speaking guide and entrance fees paid to all sites on itinerary. DEPOSIT AND CANCELLATION: A deposit of $500 per person is required to secure reservations, all of which will be applied to the price of the tour, with the balance to be paid in full no later than July 10, 2013. Written cancellations received prior to June 21, 2013 are refundable. AIR TRANSPORTATION: Round trip air transportation is provided between Portland/ Paris and Munich/Portland in economy class jet via Delta Air Lines. If pilgrims cancel after June 20, 2013 or after tickets are written, whichever comes first, 100 percent of airfare will be forfeited by passenger. All airfares are subject to government approval and may change without notice. INSURANCE: We recommend everyone purchase travel insurance. We urge this because insurance is not included in the tour price. Because of the cost of medical care outside the United States, and since Medicare does not provide coverage outside the U.S., there is the possibility that your own insurance provider may not cover you. Additionally, high costs are associated with escorted air evacuation. You will receive a travel insurance brochure along with a Travel Insurance Recommendation form. This form must be signed and returned to OCP Pilgrimages with your initial deposit. RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY: OCP Pilgrimages and participating tour operators operate the land tours as agents of the hotels, bus operators, sightseeing contractors and others who provide the actual land arrangements. They are not liable for any act, omission, delay, injury, loss, damage or non-performance occurring in connection with these arrangements. Air carriers and other transportation companies whose services are featured in these tours are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on board. The contract in use by these companies when issued shall constitute the sole contract between the companies and the purchaser of the tours and/or passage. Tour 2013-027 Eiffle Tower – Paris 5 September: Como – Lake Lucerne Today we enter Switzerland, a country of majestic mountains and deep blue lakes, and drive through the Gottard Tunnel, one of the longest in Europe. We reach Lucerne in the Bernese Oberland, right at the heart of Switzerland, between Mount Pilatus and Lake Lucerne. e old town, comprising colorful painted buildings, is protected from the lake by the historic covered wooden Chapel Bridge. We see the famous Lion Monument, shop for Swiss goodies such as chocolate, knives, cuckoo clocks and watches, or take an optional cable car trip (not included) up Mount Pilatus to 7,000 feet altitude for an incredible panorama of the mountains. We stay overnight in a lakeside village. (Breakfast and Dinner) 6 September: Lake Lucerne Today includes a full-day excursion to see some of Switzerland’s majestic scenery. We cross the Brunig Pass to Lake Brienz, one of the deepest and cleanest in the country. en on to Interlaken, which is situated between two lakes and has a magnificent view of the Jungfrau, one of the highest Swiss mountains. We then continue to Grindelwald, beneath the notorious North Face of the Eiger before returning to Lake Lucerne for the night. (Breakfast) 7 September: Lucerne – Munich is morning we leave Switzerland for Germany, enjoying the stunning scenery in the region of Bavaria, including a tour of Neuschwanstein, fairytale castle of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. e castle, the inspiration for the Disneyland castle, is decorated in a rich style with no expense spared. is extravagance eventually caused an alarmed Bavarian Parliament to depose Ludwig. We continue to Munich for two nights. (Breakfast and Dinner) 8 September: Munich is city more than any other represents the Germany of popular imagination: of lederhosen, beer, pretzels and traditional costume. Despite being badly damaged during the Second World War, the city center around Marienplatz and the opera house have been rebuilt in a sensitive manner. Following an orientation tour of the city, we drive to the suburb of Dachau, where Nazi Germany built their first concentration camp, these days a fascinating memorial and museum. We enjoy a farewell dinner this evening at Munich’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus. (Breakfast and Dinner) 9 September: Munich – Portland We depart from Munich International Airport for the journey home.
