Term 4 Week 8 2015 Principal: Russel Cowan 1 Dicker St, Gordon, 3345 Ph: 5368 9223 Fax: 5368 9451 Email: [email protected] www.gordonps.vic.edu.au November 25th 2015 Principal’s Message "The way we talk to our children becomes their inner voice" Peggy O'Marra The idea that the things we say to our kids each day are forming the core of who they are is prey hard to consider. I oſten catch myself thinking " I sound like my parents", when talking to my children. The way they acted and communicated around me formed the way that I act and speak today. The good news is that we can use this power as parents to the advantage of our children. If we act and communicate in a way that we want them to model as an adult we will be seng them up for life. Camp Our campers our going extremely well in Canberra. They are once again proving to be fantasc role models for our school. Well done to all the students for their efforts and a special thankyou to the parents and families for supporng this event. Happy Birthday We would like to wish Alyssa Tegg and Thomas Frawley a very Happy Birthday and also to any members of our community who are also celebrang their special day. Have a great weekend Russel Cowan Principal From Mrs Lambourn - Acng Principal Concert - There was much excitement as we all headed to the Gordotorium for our school concert. The children had worked hard pracsing their lines, songs and dances and were ready to perform. It was a lovely opportunity for our children to showcase their personalies and skills. These types of acvies are valuable learning experiences for children as skills such as sharing, working together, supporng each other, being part of a team and respecng each other are essenal for the performance to come together. Children also learn to be adaptable and resilient as they need to cope with new challenges (such as sound/lighng equipment). Once the concert is over these are the life skills that our children take with them. Thank you to all the families that aended the concert and supported the children. It was lovely to see so many families at the manee and the evening performances. We would like to thank all families for their support with props and costumes. Canberra Camp - The Gr 5 and 6 students along with Miss Crane, Mr Micallef and Mr Cowan headed off to Canberra on Monday morning.
