Term 4 Week 8 FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK With only 2 weeks of term to go we have had a lot going on and will still be busy right up until the end of the year. Since the last newsletter we have had the Interschool Carnival at which we won the outright trophy for the third consecutive year. A big congratulations to the P&C team for the very successful disco. Everything went smoothly and the kids had a great time. Still to come this term we have the Awards Night, Graduation Assembly, and student reports. The semester, for the first time, we will be emailing reports home to parents. This is a very efficient way to distribute reports and parents can print the reports and keep an electronic copy as well. Reports will be emailed on Tuesday the 11 th of December. Please note that once emailed, you have 4 weeks to access your child’s report before the link closes. For parents wanting a printed copy of their child’s report, these can be requested from the front office. I would like to thank the P&C for their valuable support of the school this year. At the last meeting funding was approved to install 2 additional flagpoles and a solar clock as part of an ANZAC garden. Additionally the P&C are funding 7 new ovens and are providing $500 towards book prizes at the end of the year. The P&C have also been instrumental in applying for a manned pedestrian crossing on Bletchley Parkway. This is likely to commence at the start of 2019. In the last three weeks of term Sue Bachman will be taking some well-earned Long Service Leave. She will be replaced for part of the time by Sue Garland. It is with sadness that I inform you that I will not be returning as principal in 2019. Unforeseen circumstances have meant that I will be returning to Calista Primary School. Bletchley Park Primary is a fantastic school and the students, staff and community have been wonderfully welcoming. I have visited every classroom and am very impressed with the quality of the teaching and learning occurring. I am pleased to say that Beatrice Bouska will be returning to the principal position and this will provide stability and continuity of the administration. I will work with Mrs Bouska over the remaining weeks of term to ensure that the school is in an excellent position to start 2019. In his role as Principal Advisor, Mr Partington is in a position to continue to support the school in 2019. LA22 Middle Assembly 9 November 2018
LA 22 did a great job of remembering lines, acting and delivering a very important environmental message to their audience today. Their assembly item was a dramatic presentation of The Lorax, a story with a message reminding us how greed can lead to disaster for our environment. We thank Mr Keogh who presented Mr Skinner with new flags for our school. Congratulations Mrs Roth, Mrs Bryant and the students of LA 22 for an excellent assembly to finish 2018!

Year 4 Hockey Program Hits Bletchley Park
This year, Hockey WA chose Bletchley Park Primary School to be part of a hockey pilot program. For the past 3 weeks, students have been involved in learning introductory hockey skills and this week commenced their Faction Hockey Tournament. Hockey WA and Southern River Hockey Club volunteered their time to teach the students and provide the opportunity to participate in the hockey program. Our students are very lucky to be exposed to different sports that they may choose to continue at club level. I would like to say a big thank you to Melissa from Hockey WA and to Southern River Hockey Club. We are looking forward to continuing hockey with our middle primary students next year thanks to this partnership. Mr Clint McNerney Level 3 Physical Education Teacher
