Principal: Alison Turner Tel: 03 526 8842 Text Absences: 027 526 8842 Bank Account: 03 0693 0121445 00 From Ali: It is great to be back! The one thing that stands out for me on my return is the friendliness and politeness of our students (your children!) This is what makes getting back in to routines worthwhile! Some of the other ways to make school a good place to be include these three words - Communication, Consistency, Connectedness: At this time of the school year, student learning can take a back seat for some, but not for our teachers at Ngatimoti School! To help our children to aspire to do their best and to reach for their goals, teachers and parents need to continue to work together on these three words! Communication – talk with your children about their reading books, or how they tackle maths challenges. Ask what you can do to help or support! If you have any concerns, make a time to come in and talk to a class teacher. Consistency – those basic habits such as wearing clean clothes, using manners, coming to school on time etc. all set your children up for their futures! It is up to us as the adults to keep these expectations high! (I know as a parent that this is not always easy, but it is important!) Connectedness – joining in, being a part of what is happening at school and groups outside of school has been proven to be hugely beneficial for mental well-being. It is great to see so many parents supporting this and helping at Festival, driving to after school sports etc. Well done to those students who are participating in a variety of opportunities! Thank you to all parents who make these opportunities possible. We all want your children to succeed so that they have lots of choices available to them as they grow up! Ngatimoti Festival 2015 – THIS SUNDAY 25 OCT HELP THIS FRIDAY! INDIGO ROOM HOME MADE SWEETS & FACE PAINTING Help wanted to make sweets for our Indigo Room festival stall this Friday in school time. If any ex-students or parents would be available to help out making sweets on Friday and/or face painting on Festival day please give us a call. Thank you. Kids Stalls If any of our students want to run their own stall on Festival day please bring $5 to Amanda and use your profits as spending money! Remember you must also be able to do your class duty on the day. Upcycle Competition Tasman District Council are running this competition to be displayed at our festival in the community rooms. Create something useful by re-using old items that would otherwise go to landfill! Ask Amanda for an entry form! ROSTER Please check the roster on page 3 carefully for your name. Where you see a + we need more help. Where you see a ? please confirm at the office. Confirm with your team leader to finalise timing. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
