At the start of the term the students were set a challenge to read a total of 1000 books, just for fun! Each time a student reads a book they are given a ticket to put in the office reading box. We are pleased to announce the students have already read a total 1473 books and we are only in week 6 ! A fantastic effort by everyone. The staff have really enjoyed seeing the enthusiasm the children have displayed towards reading this term. Other special events held this term include; Having a whole school ‘Drop Everything and Read’ in which over 450 students and staff all went outside at the same time and read together for 15 mins. The first ever Elizabeth Vale ‘Flash Mob’ was held. The students really enjoyed seeing the staff dance to ‘Gotta Keep Reading’ at recess time. Over 170 books were sold at our Book Fair. Thank you to all the families who sup- port this event. All students attended a performance called ‘Super Duper ‘. All classes have written their own texts which are now on display in the library for everyone to read. Reminder: Pick up and drop off times can be very busy around the school. For everyone’s safety please ensure you are following the parking signs and helping your children to cross the road safely. Regards Briony Murdoch Assistant Principal
