Principal’s Message Dear Parents/Caregivers, Term 3 has certainly been a busy, yet rewarding term. I have been amazed at what our students and staff have achieved during this term and thank everyone for their support and encouragement of our students. I wish everyone all the best for a relaxing and rejuvenating spring holidays! Just a reminder that school resumes on Monday 15th October. Excursion News Congratulations to our Yr 5 and Yr 4 students who were wonderful ambassadors for our school during their recent excursions. Huge thanks to Mr Bulmer, Miss Baker, Mr Moodie, Mr Hay, Mrs Champness and Mr Fajks for the time and effort they put into ensuring the excursions ran smoothly. The school would like to thank and acknowledge the contributions made to each of these excursions by the P & C, which helped reduce the overall cost for each child. We could not attempt to run these excursions without the assistance of our wonderful parents who also helped with supervision and overall support. Special thanks to our amazing parent helpers, Alana Tilders, Natalie Connolly, Andrew Malin, Paul Hussy, Leesa Telford, Sarah Savellis and Christine Donald. Kick the Footy Day As a fun way to conclude the term, students and staff are invited to come along dressed in their favourite footy colours, this Friday, as part of ‘Kick the Footy Day’. Throughout the day students will be involved in tabloid footy activities. Meal Deal Don’t forget the canteen is offering a meal deal on Friday the 28th September. Orders are due back tomorrow. Assembly This Friday, as it is Footy Colours Day, there will be only one assembly for all students K-6. Assembly will be in the hall at 11:30am. Cricket News Congratulations to Ryan Rotherham who last Friday at the PSSA Riverina cricket try-outs was named as part of the Riverina team. Ryan will now go on and compete with the team in a gala day on the 21st of October. Well done Ryan! Behaviour Certificates Congratulations to the many students who were able to earn 100% Behaviour Honour Cards for this term. These students are to be congratulated on consistently displaying exemplary behaviour and for always endeavouring to do their best with all aspects of learning. Yr 6 DHS Visit Year 6 students are reminded that their half day Orientation visit to Deniliquin High School is on Tuesday 16th October. Students will walk to and from DHS accompanied by Yr 6 teachers Miss Kerry and Mr Fajks. Thank you to Ms Kylie Barker for coordinating this event on behalf of DHS. Hats in the Playground Spring has certainly arrived and with that the warmer weather. I’d like to remind students and parents that broad brimmed hats need to be worn during Term 4, whilst playing outdoors. Remember our school rule, ‘No hat, play in the shade’. Sporting Schools The school has been successful in winning a second grant from Sporting Schools. This money will be used to run a cricket program for all students K-6. Thank you to Mr Morris for his work in applying for the grant and preparing the program for our students. NAPLAN NAPLAN reports will go home to families this Thursday. Enjoy your week!
