I know that Kelly will be very well supported by the Prep team lead by Mrs McNair. Kelly spent time with Mrs Belinda Morris doing a handover; getting to know the students and their families as well as learning the established class expectations and routines. Kelly has enjoyed meeting all of the staff and many families as she settles into teaching at TRBPS. Planning Week Teachers have enjoyed the allocated time over the last couple of weeks to planning in teams to ensure consistency in the delivery of curriculum programs across each year level and the school. The new timetable and school funds have continued to make this happen, using our specialist team and where necessary a few CRT’s (where the year levels have more classes). The planning days are greatly appreciated by staff and the evident collegiality has been a pleasure to see. This has been a welcome and considered feature of the new School Strategic and Annual Implementation Plans. Annual General Meeting The Annual Report to the School Community was table before the School Council meeting Tuesday April 26. It details all of the work the school has undertaken as part of our School Strategic Plan during the 2015 school year. The school community can view this report (as from next week) on the school website: www.tucker-road.vic.edu.au Principal’s Professional Learning Conference – March 9 -11 Peter and I enjoyed attending a few days of Professional Learning with our colleagues from SAGE (Stonnington and Glen Eira), Bayside and Kingston Principal Networks, at the Inner South Region Principal’s Conference which was held in Lorne. We listened to local and international guest speakers throughout the three days. I will add a full report on the ‘school news’ blog on the website. Year 6 Camp (April 18-20)- Camp Marysville The staff and students were all very lucky to have such amazing weather for the year 6 school outdoor education camp. Everyone who attended camp had an absolutely enjoyable time and it all ran very smoothly. Thank you to everyone involved with ensuring the camp was a great success and a wonderful outdoor educational experience for our children: Mr Peter Seddon, Mrs Rachel Kushnir ( year 5/6 Team Leader), Mr James Ireson, Mrs Tam Faiman, Ms Alana Oro, Mr Matt Serres and Mrs Helen Boyes. The staff reported that the students were extremely well behaved and great role models as representatives of TRBPS. The campers all looked very tired on their return but you could not wipe the smiles off their faces! Have a good week! Robyn Farnell Principal
