Principal Report Term 1 Week 5 W A L A W A A N I N J I N D I W A A N WHAT WAS SO GREAT THIS WEEK Another successful camp was held for year 6 students last week. They enjoyed some beautiful weather down at Bendalong and the students had a wonderful time creating connections with year 6 students and teachers. There was so many fantastic activities organised by the teachers and staff who attended camp, they made sure that it was a memorable experience for all the students. I’m sure if you get a chance to catch up with any of the year 6 students they will have a favourite memory that stands out for them. Again, a big thank you to the teachers who gave up their family time to organise and attend school camp. SCHOOL FAIR School Fair is almost here. With lots of busy parents making the last preparations before next week. There are even some activities happening in some classrooms that are just for fun. I have been seeing a lot of loose change in jars in the classrooms. I wonder what that might be for?? So don’t forget! 15th March from 3pm on the school grounds. Lots of fun things to see and do, so come and join us. Tim Harris (Author) We are looking forward to having a popular local author, of the book series, ‘Exploding Endings’ come into school to spend time with our students helping them to understand what it takes to be great writers. Students across the school will be participating in writing workshops. Some workshops will happen this Wednesday and Tim will be returning the following week, to make sure all the classes have a chance to do some workshop activities. I’m sure that he will inspire some of our students to want to write like published authors. Young Leaders Day Our school leaders will be making their way to Sydney on Sunday to spend time at the Young Leaders Day Conference. Students will be travelling up on Sunday afternoon with Mr Kotlash and Mrs Oelsen and they will be staying overnight and returning late on Monday night. It is sure to be an experience that is inspiring and they will never forget. Belinda Doyle (Principal) Thought for the week. Whatever words we utter should be chosen with care for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or ill.
