Principal’s Report
Yaama
It was great to see so many parents and students attend our Personalised
Learning Pathways interviews last Tuesday. These interviews are an important
step in teachers, students and their families getting to know each other. The
PLP’s that were completed during these interviews will be used to guide
teachers programs as well as help students set goals they can work towards. If
you did not have a chance to meet with your child’s teacher, please make an
appointment to do so. A small exit survey was conducted on the night but we
would love to hear some feedback from families around the process.
This week saw the start of the Premiers Reading Challenge. Teachers will be
discussing this with students in class and encouraging students to take part in
the challenge. K-2 students will be completing the challenge in class with 3-6
students encouraged to take on the challenge independently. If you would like
more information about the challenge and how you can help facilitate your
child’s success in it, please contact your child’s teacher.
Some lucky students got to share lunch with Mr GB on Monday as part of our
Berinba Bucks rewards. Each week a new value is being discussed across the
school that teachers will be looking for in the playground. Students who are
seen demonstrating the chosen value will be given a Berinba Buck to write
their name and class on. Each Friday the number of Berinba Bucks is tallied in
each class and contributes to both a class reward as well as an end of year
whole school reward. All students who have collected a Berinba Buck for the
week will also go in to a weekly draw that is drawn each Friday at Assembly.
Students who are drawn out are rewarded with a variety of rewards that
change each week. Some of the rewards so far have been Bubble Blasters, free
slushies from the canteen and lunch with Mr GB. I wonder what our prize will
be this week??
