About ABES Engineering College
ABSE Engineering College is affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Utter
Pradesh, Lucknow. ABES EC was established in year 2000 with the objective of providing
education in Engineering and Management. The programs offered by the institute are
various B.Tech programs, post-graduation program include M. ech, MBA and MCA. The T
institute is NAAC accredited and NBA accredited . The college in (CSE, ECE, ME, EN & IT)
terms of first year university (AKTU) result has achieved No. 1 position.
About the Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering established in the year 2003 has a capacity
of 180 students in the B. Tech programme and 18 students in M. Tech programme with 38
highly qualified & experienced faculty members from IITs, NITs & abroad having PhD and
research experience. Department has various center of excellence collaboration with
industry experts. For providing more research exposure department has signed MOUs
with BITS, Vizag; MOUs with University of Perpetual Help, Philippines & ICBM, Dhaka is
under process.
Introduction of CFD
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a theoretical- method of scientific and engineering
investigation, concerned with the development and application of a video-camera like tool
(a software) which is used for a unified cause-and-effect based analysis of a fluid-
dynamics as well as heat and mass transfer problem. It is an open ended application of
undergraduate corecourses of fluid mechanics and heat transfer. CFD reduces the time and
cost for designing and analyzing engineering systems and is slowly becoming part and
parcel of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). In academics, CFD is taught in different
branches of engineering: aerospace, chemical, civil, mechanical and metallurgy.
Objective of the CourseComputational fluid dynamics is undergoing significant expansion in terms of both number
of courses offered in the Institutes and number of researchers active. There are number of
software packages available to solve the fluid flow and heat transfer problems. CFD tools
are slowly being accepted as a design tools by industrial users. Users of CFD need to be
fairly knowledgeable, which require education of students, faculty and working engineers.
The present FDP is an attempt to fill this need through theory and hands on practical on
commercial package.
