} The Lady Tigers have nine returners from last year’s squad and five newcomers, including three freshmen and two transfers.

LAST TIME OUTTSU jumped out to a 34-1 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 97-41 victory over Fisk. Four Lady Tigers scored in double-digits led by Jayda John-son’s 19 points. Olivia Jones tallied 12 points while Kaliya Griffin and Tia Woo-ten scored 11 and 10 respectively. The win was TSU’s second straight.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTSBethune Cookman has an overall record of 3-6 with the Wildcats most recently coming off a, 52-50, win over North Florida at home. BCU is a member of the MEAC.
Stetson is off to a 10-2 start and has won two straight. The Hatters are most recently coming off an 89-50 win over Palm Beach Atlantic. Stetson is a member of the A-Sun.

Larry Joe Inman became the head women’s basketball coach at Ten-nessee State University in April 2012.
In only his third season as the Lady Tigers’ head coach, he led the team to an OVC Tournament Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth. 2014-15 also saw Inman reach a milestone as he recorded his 500th career win. He was also
an inductee of the 2014 Middle Tennessee Hall of Fame Class.
Inman, who was inducted into the Ohio Valley Conference Hall of Fame in 2009, served as head coach of the Eastern Kentucky women’s basketball team from 1988-2008, compiling a 319-244 record and leading the Lady Colonels to two OVC Tournament championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances (1996-97, 2004-05).
In being named OVC Coach of the Year eight times, he also directed EKU to five OVC regu-lar season championships. He also led the Lady Colonels to the 2002 WNIT Sweet Sixteen. He is the all-time winningest coach in Ohio Valley Conference women’s basketball history with his record of 504-349.
Inman announced his retirement from Eastern Kentucky in April 2008. Prior to his retire-ment, Inman was the 27th winningest active coach in NCAA Division I.
Inman is a graduate of Austin Peay State University, where he received his bachelor’s de-gree in 1970. He received his master’s degree from Tennessee State University in 1978. In-man is married to the former Bobbie Gene Follis of Shelbyville, Tenn. They have one son, Jody, and two daughters, Latrice and Tiffany. They also have seven grandchildren, Ashlyn, Hailey, Jackson, Austin, Brooklyn, Crimson and Eli.

} } PERFECT ATTENDANCE RECORD BROKE} I’mani Davis turned her ankle during a practice before Thanksgiv-ing and missed three games due to the injury. Up until the match-up vs UNLV on Nov. 26, Davis had played in 94 consecutive games dat-ing back to 2013-14, her freshman season. She played 30 games as a freshman, 31 as a sophomore and 30 as a junior before starting the first three contests of this year. Of the 94 game appearances, she started in 92 of them.

} } BREAKING BARRIERS} Former TSU women’s basketball player K.K. Brunson (1997-00) made history earlier this year when she was named Head Coach of the Mi-ami-Jackson HS football team. She became the first female coach in Florida history.
} } GENTRY CENTER} The Gentry Center Complex is multi-purpose arena on the campus of Tennessee State University. The arena opened in 1980 and is home to the TSU basketball teams. The facility is named after Howard C. Gentry, Sr., who during a 27-year span, served as a prominent professor, coach and athletics director at TSU. The Gentry Center has a seating capacity of 10,500.
} } MCLENDON COURT} The McLendon Court was named in honor of TSU and legendary Basket-ball Hall of Fame head coach John B. McLendon. The court was dedicated in 1992 when the Tigers hosted Eastern Kentucky. In August 2015, the old court was replaced with brand new floor boards.
} } AT HOME LAST SEASON} Last season, TSU posted a winning record in the Gentry Center. The Lady Tigers were 9-3 overall, 5-3 in OVC games and 4-0 in non-confer-ence match-ups.

} } FREE-THROWS} TSU has not shot well from the free-throw line to begin the season. The Lady Tigers are only shooting 56.7 percent from the charity stripe.
} } BEATTY BRINGING IT} Diamond Beatty is playing well as a senior. She scored a career-high 23 points after shooting 8-of-15 from the field and 5-of-10 from three-point range against Arkansas State. She is shooting 40.5 percent from three-point range and has made at least one three-pointer in five con-sective games.
