SEASON OPENER } Tennessee State has gone 2-0 in season openers under Head Coach Dana Ford.
} The Tigers defeated Loyola Maryland by an 86-71 final score in 2015-16 and defeated Rein-
hardt by a 97-66 score in 2014-15.
} If TSU wins all three games at the 50th annual Cable Car Classic, it will mark the program’s first
3-0 start since the 1994-95 season.
EARLY SEASON VICTORIES } TSU’s November record under Dana Ford is 6-7.
} The Tigers posted a 4-2 mark in November last season after going 2-5 in the first month of
the season in Ford’s first season in 2014-15.
CABLE CAR CLASSIC } Now in its 50th year, the Cable Car Classic started in 1967.
} A number of NBA stars have played in the Cable Car Classic over the years including Michael
Jordan, James Worthy, Ralph Sampson, Bill Cartwright and Steve Nash.
ROAD WARRIORS } Santa Clara is more than 2,000 miles from TSU’s campus in Nashville.
} It is the furthest distance TSU has traveled since playing Hawaii to open the 2013-14 season.

EXHIBITION GAME RECAP } In TSU’s lone exhibition game of the 2016-17 season, the Tigers defeated cross-town opponent
Fisk by a 77-43 final score on Nov. 3 at the Gentry Center.
} The Tigers, who led by as many as 36 points in the second half, held a 52-32 rebounding edge.
} TSU held Fisk to 22.4 percent shooting overall and 17.2 percent from three-point range.
} Six TSU players scored seven or more points for TSU with Armani Chaney leading with nine.
