Fifty-Seventh Annual State Conference
February 2011
Dear C.A.R. Members,
Bring your swim suits, and
come to enjoy the State Confer-
ence on March 11-12, 2011 at
Montgomery Bell State Park.
When the business of the
T.S.C.A.R. is taken care of, we
can go swimming, play games, see a bird show,
watch a film on the history of Montgomery Bell
State Park, and take a nature walk. At the banquet, a
Caricature Artist will be there to draw a souvenir
picture of each member. All of the information for
the conference is on the website: tscar.org.
I hope that each society has remembered the 2010-
2011 National Theme and Project: “Magnificent
Valor; the Beginnings of Freedom.” President Ben-
jamin Hinckley is raising funds for the restoration of
the Great Essentials exhibit at Independence Hall in
Philadelphia, which contains the important docu-
ments of our Founding Fathers.
Also, remember my State Project and Theme: The
Fisher House: “Giving Back to Those That Gave.”
I’m raising funds for the new Fisher House that will
be built in Murfreesboro, TN at the Sgt. Alvin C.
York Medical Center. The Fisher House is a home
away from home for our soldiers who are in need of
medical attention and their families.
I wish to thank you for giving me the honor of being
your State President; it has been my pleasure in
meeting and working with you for these many
C.A.R. years. I have wonderful memories, and I
know that being a member of the C.A.R. has given
me a better understanding of the importance of lov-
ing my country, to uphold and extend the principles
of “American Liberty and Patriotism.”
Thank you again for an amazing year.
In C.A.R. love,
Taylor Kile, State President
Letters From the State President
& Senior State President

Dear C.A.R. Family:
I can hardly believe that the time has
come for me to write my last letter to
you as senior president of T.S.C.A.R.
What a unique honor and privilege it
has been to serve you. This organiza-
tion is near and dear to my heart and
will remain so. The mission and purpose of training young
people to be good citizens and leaders and to emphasize
and teach patriotism and history is so very important and
through C.A.R. it is fun, lively and energetic. I have so
many great memories of times in C.A.R. I only wish I had
known about it when I was growing up! I challenge each
of you to make C.A.R. known to your friends and continue
to grow the organization. There is such a need for C.A.R.
in our nation today!
Our annual state conference will take place next month and
it is always such a great time to see each other, meet new
friends, and share laughs, activities, and celebrations!
Please consider attending state conference this year at
Montgomery Bell State Park. Information for registration
is on the tscar.org website as well as in this newsletter. A
complete schedule of weekend activities is also in this
newsletter.
Who knew that when I first drove my oldest two children
Melissa age 5 at the time and Daniel age 2 back in 1991
(Sarah wasn't born until 1993) to a meeting of Stones
River Society that those same two children would be
elected as state president of T.S.C.A.R. in 2002-2003 and
in 2006-2007 respectively and then Sarah last year? Those
ensuing 20 years have been filled with so many fun memo-
ries from society meetings to summer packet meeting to
state conferences to regional meetings and to national con-
vention. It has been a wonderful journey, one in which the
Hudson family has made lifelong friendships and memo-
ries.
Thank you very much for this wonderful opportunity.
All the best,
Karen W. Hudson
