The TN District was well represented with 26 quizzers, along with our delegation doing a great job of cheering and supporting.Awards were given to the Top 5 Teams, the Top Individual Scores, and Memory Awards to those quizzers who quoted at least the 20 selection memory verses for this year. With 3 rounds totaling 60 questions from the book of Matthew, competition was close; however, our TN District Quizzers glorified God with amazing knowledge of the Word and coming home with top honors. A complete listing of results can be found at www.tnnaz.org.
Please remember to report your church Nazarene Safe Training

Southeastern Conference Children’s Quiz
33 quizzers (27 teams) from 9 districts gathered for the SoutheasternConference Children’s Quiz, April 27-28, at GracePointeChurch of the Nazarene, Loganville, GA.
As we are in the last month of the church year on our district, I want to thank our pastors, NMI presidents, and local churchesfor every time you gave, prayed, discipled, and educated Nazarenes regarding global missions. As you fill out yearly reports in early June, may you rejoice in what has been done and be challenged to do more in the year ahead. We are part of a great team around the world! May God grow us up into all He would have us to be in all the nations of the world. We will be celebrating together on June 27-28 at Trevecca Community Church. Mark your calendar and ask for a day off so you can be a part of our NMI Convention with our own missionaries from Tennessee, David and Lisa Johnson.
The most helpful way to fulfill our NMI purpose of education is to host missionaries. I would like to see EVERY church in Tennessee host a missionary once a year. Many of us have 3-4 missionaries each year and are blessed by their testimonies and reports. Please contact our deputation secretary, Sharron Shands at [email protected] if you would like to host a missionary. She is happy to assist you or you may schedule one on your own. Here are some opportunities coming for us in 2012. There are open dates for these missionary tours.
David & Lisa Johnson from the Horn of Africa July 8-15Dr. Jim and Kathy Radcliffe from Papua New Guinea November 1-7
Phil & Denise Anderson from South Africa November 18 & 25 (Sundays only)
Finally, I’d like to encourage you to prayerfully explore Nazarene missions on the web at globalmission.nazarene.org. There are dozens of ways to “give and go” in our mission program. Soon you will be hearing about a Work and Witness trip to Cuba in 2013, where we have not been able to go for 6o years because of Communism. Will you begin to pray about what God is calling you to do to be a part of His Great Comission? Let’s begin there, with prayer, and expect the Holy Spirit to lead us as we end one year and begin again in June. Thank you for your faithfulness to the kingdom.

The early bird deadline has passed for camp but there is still time to get your camp forms in. We are excited to announce that this year at High School camp (June 4-8) we will welcome back Luminate to lead our worship and we will be challenged by Rev. Tim Fisher from Crossroads Community Church in Elkhart, IN. Middle School camp (June 11-15) will be led in worship by Refuge from Trevecca Nazarene University and challenged by Rev. Andrew Arp, Middle school pastor at Flint Central Nazarene in Flint, MI. If you have any questions about camp, please contact Matt Taylor at [email protected].
I love you and there’s nothing you can do about it!
With the month of May upon us you can almost hear the song “Pomp and Circumstance” in your sleep. As we prepare for a month full of graduations and sad goodbyes, it is a reminder to those of us in youth ministry just how little time we have with our students. Our goal in these short years is to train, teach and encourage our students to make a life long commitment to Jesus Christ, before sending them into the great big world ahead. Our goal as your district leadership team is to make each activity we provide full of purpose to meet that goal. With just one month before the summer hits we are hard at work making this summer one that will achieve just that.
Last month the TNYI participated in TNT@TNU. It was thelargest TNT in its 26 year history with over 2,000 participants from across the southeast. I am proud to say that this year was a year of firsts for Tennessee. For the first time in over 10 years, we had more participants than any other district with 307. We placed in the top 3 for the first time in 8 years, as we
Y.E.S. conference will be held at Trevecca Nazarene University June 18-22. This event is designed specifically for those of you that have felt a call into full time ministry. Learning tracks are available for the following ministry areas: pastoral, worship, missions, children, or youth. Y.E.S. stands for Youth Equipped to Serve. To learn more about the event visit www.southeastnaz.com or contact Daniel Medders [email protected]
At our most recent council meeting we voted to redesign our TNYI website in order to make it secure, reliable, and efficient. In the coming weeks we will announce the launch of this new site. As always I will send out current information through our email data base. If you currently do not receive emails from me concerning current events, please send an email to [email protected].
took home 2nd overall, which was our highest place in over 15 years! Students used their gifts “From God, For God” in a variety of areas including Bible quizzing, sports, arts and music. The most impressive sight of all was the unity displayed as a district. Students were no longer divided by school or church, they were one district family. We look forward to even greater accomplishments next year April 11-13, 2013.
