• We tend to think everyone should have a dedicated camera, but a great photo is a great photo, regardless of the gear used to take it.

• Technology has made great strikes, don’t underestimate the camera that you carry around with you all the time: your smartphone.

Play with the light

T H R E E

Good light is the kind of light that gives a scene shape. Look for light with some kind of direction and color. This type of light happens naturally at just before sunrise and at sunset. Alternatively, window light is great because it has direction and it's often soft and a little diffuse, so it's not harsh on your subjects.

Moments, not poses

It might be tempting to run around with your camera at holiday barking out orders like “Smile,” “Look here!” and “Say Cheese!”

Moments, not poses

Capturing the essence of what people are doing without be noticed often makes for much more interesting photos as well as better memories in years to come.

Keep it clean

Avoid Distracting Backgrounds: if you have a cluttered background in your photos it can distract attention away from your intended subject.

Keep it clean

So use backgrounds like simple fences and even plain walls.

Keep it real

A lot of beginners make the mistake of thinking that using photo editing apps will turn a bad photo into a good one.

Keep it real

I have tried it enough over the years… Keep it real, keep it natural!

Be original

S E V E N

Avoid common cliches, Flowers, pets and sunsets are nice things to look at and the majority of beginners think that taking a photo of something pretty is half the battle.

In reality, it’s much more impressive to be able to take a photo of something ugly or boring and make it interesting.

Follow the Rules of Composition

Mobile photographs are well-composed for the same reasons as any other photographs. Get level: keep those horizons and verticals in check.

Turn on you camera grid.

Follow the Rules of Composition

The rule of thirds: is still the rule. Don’t always centre your subject.

Organize and share

Google Photos offers several tools:

Assistant finds those repeat photos and puts them to use by automatically creating photosets, collages, and animations.

Hashtags are awesome. They are one of the best ways to drive more likes to your posts and more followers to your profiles. However, here’s what you should keep in mind:

Use them! Don’t use too many – it will annoy your followers.

Keep them relevant. A lot of people add a lot of tags to their photos that aren’t relevant at all. Doing so will serve no purpose.

Your phone spends a lot of time in your pocket, a bag or in your hand, and as a result it will get dirty.
