The Temple staff and I are excited to start our Fall Academy. This fall we are offering exciting classes in jazz, tap, Book it!, acting and even an improv class. Our young actors Rising Stars program will be returning as well.

I am also thrilled to announce that we will be producing The Jungle Book KIDS on the Temple stage!We hope to have you join us this fall at Temple Theatre.

BOOK IT! EXPAND YOUR AUDITION REPERTOIRE (Chapter 1) Ages 9-Adult Focus on developing singing and acting skills while building a repertoire of musical theatre songs for audition purposes. This class lays the foundation for musical theatre song performance. INSTRUCTOR: GAVAN PAMER

MUSIC ENSEMBLE Ages 8-18With a focus on musical theatre repertoire, students in this class learn proper body posture, breathing techniques, voice projection and basic music theory skills as they create beautiful music together.INSTRUCTOR: GAVAN PAMER

BOOK IT! SATURDAY PACKAGE

The Jungle Book KIDS is a two week half-day day performance Conservatory for ages 8 to 18 which culminates in a complete production for a live audience. Auditions will be held on the first day of the conservatory.

The jungle is jumpin' with a jazzy beat in Disney's The Jungle Book KIDS. Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, Disney's The Jungle Book KIDS features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie.Banished by the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan, a human boy named Mowgli and his panther friend, Bagheera, are on the run in the deepest parts of the jungle. On their journey, the two meet a sinister snake named Kaa, a herd of elephants and a giant bear named Baloo, who teaches them the swingin' musical rhythms of the jungle. After surviving a dangerous encounter with a band of monkeys led by King Louie, Mowgli and Bagheera are forced to run for their lives. When Shere Khan returns, our heroes must rally their fellow animals into battle and restore peace throughout the jungle.

Our Saturday intensive consists of four classes: jazz, tap,acting, and music ensemble. Each class focuses on improving technique and helping our young actor shine. The Saturday intensive will wrap up with a sharing. Students will display what they have learned over the eight weeks.

BALLET Ages 8-18Ballet introduces the basic positions of the arms and feet, and preliminary movements associated with classical ballet. Young dancers will develop grace and poise while learning proper terminology and technique.

TAP Ages 8-18Students will explore the principles of tap and build upon skills while learning new steps. Coordination, balance and musicality will be instilled along with an increase in speed, clarity of sounds and weight shifting.INSTRUCTOR: GAVAN PAMER

JAZZ Ages 8-18Students will explore the principles of proper jazz technique. Students will focus on placement and specificity of movement and will strive toward improved flexibility and strength.

IF WE RULED THE WORLD Ages 8-18In this class students will improvise, devise and brainstorm their own performance. Each week the performance will be completely different. Students will work as an ensemble, develop improvisation skills and our Temple Theatre games. This class ends with a performance of a live improv show where the lines will be made up on the spot.INSTRUCTOR: ALEASE TIMBERS

ACTING Ages 8-12Students will learn the basics of acting, auditioning and working with scripts. These activities cultivate confidence, imagination, and a comfort level with performance. This class is great for beginners who want to learn more about performing, as well as experienced actors looking to improve their acting technique. INSTRUCTOR: ALEASE TIMBERS

ACTING Ages 13-18Students in this class learn the basic terminology, techniques and expectations of stage actors through interactive theatre games, partner work and ensemble activities. Students develop skills in characterization, physicality, and emotionality. A required class for beginners and a fun refresher for experienced actors. INSTRUCTOR: ALEASE TIMBERS

CREATING YOUR OWN PLAY (Sci-Fi Edition) Ages 8-18In this class students will form their own story! Over the 8 weeks students will improvise, devise and brainstorm to create our own Mystery. Students will also experience character driven activities. INSTRUCTOR: ALEASE TIMBERS

RISING STARS: A MAGICAL ADVENTURE Ages 4-7Come spend 8 weeks in Fantasy Village! Explore fun stories and meet some new friends in our Magical adventure! We will create our own fairy tale characters and discover the fun-filled happenings of our little home called Fantasy Village. We will explore role drama by using their 3 acting tools. (Body, Voice, Imagination.) Students will be able to share short adventures with the audience. Students will be able to use their acting tools to show characters and learn to work together.
