This Multipoint-to-Multipoint Video Conferencing System uses IGMP multicasting for efficient transmission of real-time multimedia data.
Multicasting greatly reduces multimedia traffic compared to conventional unicast traffic, thus improving bandwidth utilization.

The advantage that Satellite transmission media has over cable or point-to-point terrestrial link is its ability to
broadcast. Multicast or group addressing ensures that registered members of a group receive the Internet traffic with
the same transmission, thus saving bandwidth
