The ONT features two provisionable voice ports and four high-speed 10/100/1000 data ports. These support Voice-over-IP (VoIP), high-speed Internet (HSI) and Internet Protocol television (IPTV) services. The Tellabs® 742G ONT provides ITU-T G.984-compliant 2.5 Gbps downstream and 1.25 Gbps upstream. GPON interfaces with extended PON reach up to 30 km/18.6 mi. The Tellabs® 742G ONT is compliant with ITU standard management control interface (OMCI) definitions. It is manageable from the Tellabs® Panorama™ Integrated Network Manager and supports the full range of FCAPS functions. It complies with GPON Standard ITU-T Rec.G984.2 and G984.2 Amendment. The ONT receives downstream data at 2.488 Gbps over a wavelength of 1490 nm and sends upstream data at 1.244 Gbps over a wavelength of 1310 nm. Tellabs ® 1100-742G Single Family Unit (SFU) GPON ONT The Tellabs® 742G GPON ONT supports these physical layer features: n Support for Class B+ and optional Class C optics n Transceiver is a Class 1 laser product and complies with FDA21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11. n Received optical power monitoring n Supports point-to-point active Ethernet signals up to 40 km POTS (Plain Old Telephone Services) The Tellabs® 742G GPON ONT supports plain old telephone voice services over RJ-11- or IDC-equipped connectors. n VoIP Softswitch or Class 5-based high-quality voice service through POTS lines n High-speed Internet or VoIP access through four 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet interfaces n Support for SIP protocol in one software load n Support for a myriad of GR-303/V5 gateway protocols High-Speed Data Services The Tellabs® 742G GPON ONT supports 10/100/1000 Base-T interfaces. The Ethernet interface operates as an IEEE 802.1D transparent bridge based on RFC-2684. Class of service as well as bandwidth is controlled through provider provisionable options.
