Slide 3
Comparing to the 20s During the 20s, the debate between
Religion and Science began to take heed, such as with the Scopes
Trial, and generally the American people sided with religion during
this time.
Slide 4
However, once the fiftys started, more and more people began to
step over to Science. This is easily emphasized by the many TVs
shows one sees from the fiftys onward.
Slide 5
As the 50s began, many TV shows began to take a step towards
science. In fact, scientific shows were very popular during the 50s
and 60s. Here are some such shows
Slide 6
Its like it says in a Doctor Who clip But look at it this way.
come and go, perish. disperses, coalesces, reforms into other
patterns, other worlds. Nothing can be Planets stars Matter
eternal.
Slide 7
Therefore he is the mediator of a new Covenant, that those who
are may receive the promised inheritance... (Hebrews 9:15). Compare
that to this called eternal
Slide 8
As you can see, the two quotes offer contradictory ideas,
showing the change to science that was experienced during the
50s.

Also, the rise of TV shows the transition of America to Hero
Worship
Slide 10
During the 1900s, the American people stopped worshiping people
who had helped America prosper, such as presidents, War Heroes,
explorers, and began to worshipping people who had faced the
impossible and survived. People like Babe Ruth and Amelia Earhart.
People who showed determination and courage. And the traits these
people had were put into the super heroes on television. The people
who we look up to and show us who a hero should be.
Slide 11
Some such heroes
Slide 12
The hero qualities the American people began to worship in the
twenties, became apparent in our TV shows during the 50s. Bravery,
determination, and courage, are all what went into the heroes we
know and love today, and are exactly who the American people began
to worship in the 20s.
Slide 13
To conclude, the TV shows that began during the 50s, highly
emphasized the changing American culture from the 20s.
