Dr Sharma while interact- ing with the people of Kandharano and other adjoining villages of the area and raised serious concern over the betrayal of BJP with people of Jammu and the complete failure of PDP- BJP Government on all fronts. "The public of the entire Jammu region has suffered due to the lack of governance in the previous two and half years. Virtually all the ministers remained busy in enjoying the com- forts whereas the people suf- fered for the want of basic amenities" said and accused the BJP that it had surren- dered the interests of the Jammuites for the sake of power and deceived the peo- ple who voted heavily in favour of the party during the last Assembly elections. The AIIMS was shifted away from Jammu to Kashmir region and it was only due to the efforts put in by the peo- ple of Jammu that the Government was pressurized to announce another AIIMS at Jammu, but notification still awaited, he said. Failure of government exposed the real face of BJP and its leadership before the public of the region he said adding that BJP made tall claims and raised hollow slo- gans but after coming in power, it surrendered itself completely at the hands of PDP only to enjoy power. He appealed to all Jammuites to wake up, unite and fight for common cause of the region. Dr Sharma stated that the BJP always exploited the sentiments of Jammu province by making false promises particularly dur- ing the electioneering, but practically they did nothing after coming in power and real face of the party is exposed. He remarked that the both the Central and the State Governments miserably failed to create new employ- ment opportunities for the unemployed youth who are feeling cheated and brewing with anger and resentment. Dr. Sharma strongly criti- cized that the BJP-PDP Govt. fail to formulated a good employment policy and the new BJP-PDP's employ- ment policy which is totally against the interest of edu- cated unemployed youth. Listing the failures of both the Central as well as the state governments, he stated that the ministers of the coalition government patro- nised corruption and pro- moted it in public life. Honest and dedicated offi- cers and the employees were harassed and put to great troubles by the coalition regime as they refused to dance to the tunes of the political bosses. Whereas the corrupt and the inefficient officers were given prized postings due to which the common masses suffered badly as there was no one to listen to their genuine issues. The corruption became the rule of the day and the pub- lic was made to pay heavy bribery to get their genuine and routine works in govern- ment offices. The government machin- ery was misused for the per- sonal benefits of the minis- ters and political workers. People of village Kandharno and Rajwalta showed serious concern over failure of water supply of their area since last two months.
