Skin MythsWe’ve all heard stories about how to take care of your skin. Some of these stories are true, while some are totallymade up. We’re here to make sure you know your facts!

It is not safe to use your mom’s old skin care products. Those products were made for mommy skin, not for teenage skin. Trust only products that have been specially designed for teenage skin.

It is not safe to continue using soap to clean your face. Soap may not be able to get rid of the teenage oil on your face, and soap ingredients are too harsh for teen skin.

If you use the correct cleanser, you should not get pimples. Those who do breakout after using a cleanser either did not use the right product, or it was simply a coinci-dence that their skin produced pimples at the same time they used acleanser.

Oily food will not cause pimples! The oil in the food you eat will not end up on your face. Pimple-causing oil comes only from your skin’s oil glands.

You should not wash your face as often as you can—you should only wash it twice to thrice a day. Too much washing can lead to more pimples.

Never wipe your face dry. You should always pat it dry gently with a clean towel.
