….is helping introduce some of the most fascinating thinkers and doers to a world stage. TED is a global platform devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. TEDx is a locally organized event that focuses on individuals and innovation in various cities. The individuals involved with TEDxBITSGoa have a passion for spreading stories worth telling, with this in mind, this edition’s theme is -“This is my story”. We believe in the power of stories to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world.

A Little History about TED TED began in 1984 as a gathering place for innovators and leaders in the fields of Technology, Entertainment and Design. 26 years later, TED has become a nexus for a global community of

individuals who believe in the power of Ideas Worth Spreading.

TED.com currently has a library of over 900 amazing talks of such high quality that the site has become the platinum standard for innovation in digital storytelling.

Every week, in multiple cities, people are coming together to pursue ideas worth spreading. • 830 TEDx Events have happened in 2009 • 45 Languages • 210 Countries

→ In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx - local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED -like experience.

→ At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark

deep discussion and connection in a small group. → These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where

x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.

What is TEDxBITSGoa? → TEDxBITSGoa aims at bringing forth the most basic form

of 'effective' communication. It often takes an idea a lot of time to seep into our mind. The more its related to the day-to-day life of a person, the easier it is for the latter to grasp the essence of an idea.

→ With TEDxBITSGoa 2012, we want to put forward our love for stories that ought to be heard, ought to be listened to, ought to be learned from. With a blend of not only Scientists, Artists, Technologists, Designers, Performers, but also the simple Common Man, we aim will bring forward stories worth listening to. Stories that haven't only affected the society, but stories that have altered the very fabric of mankind as we know it.

» We have planned of having a bookrack which will have the signed copy of the favorite book of each speaker. These can be given away as prizes to our pre-event competitions. Partners will get branding in this area.
