According to him, the motto of this programme is to bring change in students.

He strongly believes that students have dynamic power.

He quoted two says which he believes strongly. “If I have half a dozen of students, I will bring a dynamic change in country”-SWAMI VIVEKANANDA “you be the change, you can bring change”-MAHATMA GANDHI

Page 5: Ted Presentation

He called this programme as an USHERING CHANGE which means the whole world(including university) is expecting change.

He just posed a question, ”What can we do individually to bring change?”

India is at the edge to become a great country. 20% of students are employed what about the remaining 80% ?????????

Thus he concluded that in order to bring change in every individual, this programme is conducted.

He feels to have a change in his life for every 5 years.

He relates life to a fairy tale “HANSEL AND GRETEL.”

Inspite of his job in U.S. , he had given his first rock band show in a university , where he got a howling response from the crowd.

He concluded by strongly saying ,”Our passions are also part of our lives, irrespective of what we had studied in our respective institutions, as our passions bring change in our lives.”

RAMA LAKSHMIRama Lakshmi, 42,is a professionally trained museologist and has worked with several American museums, including the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. In India, she has consulted with the National Rail Museum, National Museum Institute, Gandhi Museum and the Foundation of Indian Contemporary Art. She is also a member of the CII Task Force on Museums. She is currently curating an exhibition on portraying the people's movement for justice in Bhopal. She has also worked as a journalist for The Washington Post for 19 years, and won the American Society of Newspaper Editors' award for her coverage of the tsunami disaster in 2004.

Page 9: Ted Presentation

Her passion is to visit museums. She is a museum lover. She feels that INDIAN MUSEUMS are neither been properly

constructed nor properly being used by the people. She articulates that people are spotting museums as

picnic spots but not actually gaining the knowledge, that has to be gained, about our history.

She supports her opinion by giving few exemplaries like NEWS MUSEUM IN WASHINGTON DC. She even says that every spectator, after visiting this museum, gets inspired to become a reporter.

She just want to pose a few questions like Why cant our people get inspired after visiting our museums? Is the problem lying in people or museums?

Page 10: Ted Presentation

So she finally decided to bring a change in our society. She is presently working on a project regarding BHOPAL TRAGEDY and she decided to initiate a mobile museum, which carries each and every incident regarding BHOPAL TRAGEDY, which travels throughout our country.

Thus she is trying to bring change in the society by enjoying her passion.

Raju is one of the key people responsible for developing the strategic direction of the Zoho Suite. Prior to joining Zoho Corp, Raju co-founded an Internet product company serving the educational market. He holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science.

Page 12: Ted Presentation

He introduces his company as a product company

(which designs to produce products) but not a service company(which does software works in the form of programs).

He just want to bring change in the education system as he feels that students are not being properly trained and are getting relieved with certificates, without proper knowledge on what actually they had studied.

Page 13: Ted Presentation

In their university the procedure is as follows: Exam is conducted for economically poor students, who cant afford for graduation courses, which consists of a simple maths. After they get selected they are trained for a year regarding some products design and solutions for the problem. Their teaching structure consists of product-customers requirement-how the problem is solved-algorithms(small part as it is not service based)-maths etc. After one year these students are offered a job and train the new batch students. These students have equal knowledge with graduates, studied for four years.

He just want to pose few questions like “Is the present college education relevant to what actually they are doing now?” “Why should students go out, after college hours, for learning some extra courses?”

At Dhaatu, they hope to fill a gap between what today’s young parents know implicitly and what they are able to actively teach their kids. They aim to present it to the children in a way that they can enjoy it, cherish it and thereby gain an experience and an introduction into India’s traditional wisdoms - in the hope that this will prove to be a valuable space in their consciousness to which they can return to at any time of their lives, when they feel the need for it.

She lead a very happy married life, with two daughters, for 10yrs in U.S. Later she felt like having a change in her life. She came back to INDIA, to Banglore, which is her home town, and was stunned to see the change in the city. She felt bad by seeing people who were completely under the influence of western culture and were least bothered about our culture and traditions.
