• Born September 26th 1936• At the ages 8-10 Ted enjoyed
playing with, sling shots, building trenches, and Erector sets.
• which were patent in 1913, The Erector Set was invented by AC Gilbert in 1911.
• Ted Grew up in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan (Also in Wayne County )
• Where he attended Summer camp at Chippewa Ranch for boys and girls. He learned many trades while he was there .
• In Junior High Ted went to Grosse pointe with his sisters and brothers.
• The sister, Meg now lives in Australia and his two brothers, mike lives in San Francisco and the other brother is deceased.
• When it came to his high school years Ted went to a private school in Connecticut called, Canterbury, a prep school for just boys.

• After his high school years Ted went to Cornell University in Ithaca, New york
• masters degree in engineering• That’s where he saw the navy and began
his military career. • At 23 years old• Started at Little Creek, Virginia• Which is the major operating base for the
Amphibious Forces in the United States Navy's Atlantic Fleet.
• After Little creek Ted went to Coronado, California
• Which is located just across the bay from San Diego.
• commissioned in January 1944• in the service for 30 years • only had active duty for 2 years starting in 1960-
1962• The Vietnam war started after ted got off of
reserve.• though the war was a very long and costly one
