TECTON is the world’s first continuous-row luminaire to have an 11-pole current conducting section built into its trunking. This means that the system comes ready equipped to meet tomorrow’s needs. All functions such as power supply, lighting control and connection to emergency lighting are seamlessly integrated into this multifunctional trunking. Luminaires can be positioned flexibly and the system can be adapted to suit structural alterations at any time. TECTON copes effortlessly with various lighting requirements – at the time it is installed and whenever there are changes. The TECTON trunking remains unchanged and forms the functional backbone of the system. It is simply a matter of replacing or adding luminaire elements, light sources or optics as required.

Using various node connectors, the TECTON continuous-row lighting system can be assembled and combined in a myriad of variants, fully meeting the respective requirements in terms of design and lighting technology. TECTON L-, T-, X- and flexible connectors open up many different options for creative design using light. Thus, the structures themselves become integral parts of the interior design. The electrical engineer will define the wiring sequence via the node connectors on site, depending on the application requirements.

Calculating axial dimensions with node connectors The axial dimension can be calculated very easily: two connectors together give 0.5 m. The trunking units are also provided in increments of 0.5 m. Therefore the axial dimension is always the trunking length plus 0.5 m.
Axial dimension (mm) = length of trunking + 500 mm
365 135
Axial dimension (135 mm + 365 mm = 500 mm) + trunking T 1500 – T 4500
Possible feed-in and feed-out points TECTON provides a wide variety of possible feed-in and feed-out points to cope with customer-specific requirements and conditions. An additional feed-in point is recommended for continuous-row sys-tems which are longer than 50 m. TECTON central feed-ins are per-fect for this purpose, especially since they do not disrupt the visual continuity of a continuous-row system.
Note: TECTON LED battens in lengths of 1000 mm, 1500 mm and 2000 mm fully conceal the input/output feeder (no ONLITE emergency luminaires). This is not possible with spotlights, sensors and RESCLITE emergency luminaires due to the close rotary toggle spacing.

Efficiency combined with outstanding lighting quality
2
The new generation of the TECTON continuous-row LED lighting system features improved energy efficiency on the one hand, and a significantly pared-down stylistic idiom on the other hand. All that is needed to create a continuous-row LED lighting system is a trunking unit and an LED luminaire. Even where various different distribution characteristics are placed next to each other, TECTON LED appears as a consistent continuous-row system, without any visual interruption or different reflectors. As the LED system is 100 % compatible with the entire TECTON product range, T16 and T26 luminaires already in place can be replaced easily and without any tools by the new contin-uous-row LED system. Thanks to an audible and visible fastening system, the luminaire and the pre-wired 11-pole trunking are quickly and securely connected.

Split-lens technology
2
Split-lens technology The split lens directs the light in a targeted, efficient manner from the centre to the lateral areas. Accordingly, the lighting pressure in the middle is reduced, and the luminaire causes much less glare – with-out any negative effects on the light distribution curve. With the split-lens concept, all known beam patterns can be realised. The position of the LED remains visible, but in contrast to conventional lenses, the luminaire surface can be extended to the entire width, thus clearly gaining in homogeneity.

TECTON LED Wallwasher
The wallwasher’s asymmetric light distribution is specially designed for presentation and retail areas where there are one-sided shelf surfaces. An unobtrusive reflector that can be clicked into place quickly and without any tools presents goods in the right light.
TECTON LED Wide beam
The wide-beam optic is equally suitable for handling dec-orative as well as technical tasks. Its medium-wide light distribution is ideal for lighting shelf surfaces and aisle zones. It also illuminates surfaces without shelves, e.g. manufacturing areas, uniformly.
TECTON LED Narrow beam
Specially developed for use in industrial and engineering applications, the narrow-beam optic ensures efficient, uniform illumination of the vertical fronts of shelving. With a maximum mounting height of around 18 m, it easi-ly copes with medium and large room heights.
TECTON LED Shelf Beam
The shelf beam optic really comes into its own in presen-tation applications and retail spaces. Its symmetrical light distribution focuses on shelf surfaces; aisle zones are not as brightly lit. This way, customers’ attention is directed to the goods that are on display.

Add-on Clip
Add-on clip
This small mounting clip provides for a lot of creative leeway. Reflectors designed according to the customer’s needs will change the lighting effect and the geometry of a TECTON LED luminaire, thus allowing for an individual stylistic idiom. The big advantage on site: using the add-on clip, the extra attachment can be mounted quickly and comfortably.

TECTON LED CG reflector
As the name indicates, a so-called CG (Controlled Glare) reflector reduces glare. The TECTON LED CG reflector decreases the UGR index to below 19. In this way, the requirements with respect to standard-compliant glare control are met for applications such as the checkout area of supermarkets. Assembly takes place quickly and easily with the add-on clip.

Consistently efficient
Linear lighting: TECTON LED integrates light source, batten luminaire and reflector into a visual and functional unit. Compact yet versatile, the linear luminaire radiates utter calmness: continuous-row systems without butt joints, uninterrupted light lines leading across the room. Pre-assembled end caps as standard reduce the number of compo-nents, thus clearing the way for a 100 % seamless, quickly assembled continuous-row LED system.
Requiring little effort: Thanks to its luminaire efficiency of up to 149 lumens per watt, TECTON LED provides crucial economic bene-fits. Less maintenance effort means less time out, and the costs will be reduced even further thanks to lower energy consumption. Thus, investing in a TECTON LED lighting solution will pay for itself within a very short period.TECTON provides a good colour rendering index of Ra 80 and a long service life – so that even after 50 000 hours of operation, 90 percent of the initial luminous flux will still be achieved.

Quick installation
The LED continuous-row system is compati-
ble with the entire TECTON product range.
The luminaire and trunking are attached to
each other quickly and securely thanks to a
system that provides an audible and visible
indication of locking. Familiar, tried-and-
tested features, such as Plug & Play and
no-tool installation, have been retained.
TECTON LED is therefore also time-efficient.
Optional control gear
Upon request, TECTON LED continuous-row
luminaires are available with industrial
control gear from Tridonic, which offers an
extremely long service life of 100 000 hours.
Split-lens technology
Light that is dispersed directly within the
split lens increases the homogeneity of the
light-emitting panel, reducing glare and
lighting pressure at the same time – in all
four optics. This versatility and precision
perfectly prepares the TECTON LED lumi-
naire for the manifold tasks in industrial
facilities and retail settings; their light con-
trol fully displays the benefits of LED by op-
timising horizontal and vertical illuminance
levels and avoiding spill light.
As standard: IP50 rating
In all optical variants, TECTON LED
continuous-row luminaires dispose of the in-
creased IP50 rating for LEDs and optics.
Overlapping lenses and end pieces provide
protection against soiling, eliminating clean-
ing effort and resulting in high mechanical
stability. The thus extended maintenance
cycle is very convenient, especially in the
case of major exposure to soiling.
LED perfection
With a colour rendering index of up to
Ra > 80 and colour temperatures of 3000 K,
4000 K and 6500 K, TECTON LED demon-
strates its excellent lighting quality
Chemical resistance
Only carefully selected materials with in-
creased chemical resistance are used for all
TECTON luminaires and components.
Product features
TECTON LED continuous row
The new standard at the installation site: 2 m continuous-row luminaires
2
Regardless of conventional lamp lengths, TECTON LED is now avail-able as a 2 m continuous row, presenting itself in the best light right from the start: quicker assembly, fewer individual luminaires, and an increase of efficiency by 5 per cent into the bargain. As compared to continuous-row systems featuring a length of 1.5 m, the new 2 m continuous-row luminaire also means less individual packaging and fewer parts at the installation site. Nevertheless, the 2 m unit comes with the advantages of the conventional length: the lightweight continuous-row LED system is perfectly fit to be mounted by one person.

A conventional supermarket uses T16 continuous-row systems to illuminate its shelving. A direct comparison with TECTON LED Wide Beam makes the strengths of the practically maintenance-free LED solution obvious: taken over a period of 15 years, total costs of ownership are reduced by 39 % and 43 % for the 1.5 m LED batten and the 2 m LED batten, respectively. The reduction in energy costs by up to 52 % is another persuasive argument in favour of using LED lighting in environmentally responsible retail operations.

Conventional lighting for manufacturing areas is a T16 continuous-row system. If, however, the decision is made to opt for a TECTON LED Wide Beam continuous-row system, it is not just lighting quality that improves markedly. Thanks to higher light output ratio levels, fewer luminaires are required, and energy consumption will drop by 54 percent, and when combined with daylight-based control, even by 68 percent.Taken over a fifteen-year period, the costs of the continuous-row LED system are 47 percent less than that of T16 lighting, and for a lighting solution controlled by DIMLITE, even up to 56 percent less.

Workplaces for precise mechanical assembly, in laboratories, schools, supermarket checkouts or offices, impose increased requirements of the light quality. With minimised glare and reduced reflection on the work area, the 1.5 m long TECTON light bar with MPO lens fulfils such challenging visual tasks outstandingly well. Because the micro pris-matic lens ensures even light distribution without the LEDs appearing as individual light points. No LED light points can be recognised even when directly looking at the luminaire. Further attractive features are the gentle ceiling brightening and the lateral translucent lens whose translucence promotes wide light distribution with soft contours.

LED and MPO form a unique combination: the strong LED light pack-ages of 5500 lm, 6500 lm and 8000 lm gain unique quality thanks to the lens: Micro-prisms free the luminaire from disturbing reflections due to visible light points and minimise the subjective feeling of glare in the real application. The large, homogeneous light-emitting surface enables significantly lower UGR values with a comparable high lumi-nous flux. TECTON MPO LED provides application-specific solution competence by means of a colour temperature of 4000 K with colour rendering of Ra 80 as well as dimmable and non-dimmable variants. The luminaire is optionally available with robust Tridonic industrial control gear. With a high degree of protection and impact resistance, LED modules and lens are ideally prepared for use in industrial envi-ronments.
Reflection-free light for challenging workplaces inindustry, including production lines for cars.
High-quality light and a pleasant room atmosphere enable classroom users to concentrate better.

In the case of self contained luminaires, the battery is fitted in the actual luminaire. Such luminaires operate as completely self-contained units and are easy to install. There is no need for expensive structural measures or fire-resistant wiring accessories. Self contained luminaires are rated NT1 or NT3 depending on whether they provide 1 hour or 3 hours of operating time.
ONLITE central eBoxCentral battery system
The centrally supplied emergency lighting system is perfectly adjusted to the specifics of LED luminaires and features double energy efficiency: if energy-saving luminaires are connected, ONLITE central eBox scores high on low system output. The emergency light-ing system supplies luminaires with a total installed load of 1500 W with power for one hour, luminaires with a total of 500 W for three hours. Several systems can be linked quite easily.
Onlite central CPSCentral battery system
Based on a modular system, each central battery system is perfectly customised to the client’s requirements. The central battery system communicates via DALI. This way, each DALI luminaire can be used as a sepa-rately monitored emergency luminaire and be indivi dually controlled. Other benefits include minimal maintenance effort and interference-free data communication.

ONLITE RESCLITE escapeIlluminates escape routes at every turn
The EN 1838 standard specifies a minimum level of illuminance of 1 lx for escape routes on the central floor axis. RESCLITE escape uses the special combination of lens and reflector to focus this light onto a long, narrow area. Its illumination range – and maximum distance between the two luminaires is up to 26 metres. High-quality lighting technology reduces glare and ensures optimum visual conditions in emergency operation as well. This characterises RESCLITE escape as a specialist for escape route lighting in rooms with ceiling heights of between 2.2 and 7 metres. The new RESCLITE high ceilings also enables safety to a height of up to 20 metres.

ONLITE RESCLITE antipanicEnsures good orientation in the room
According to EN 1838, at least 0.5 lx on the free floor area is re quired to avoid panic in emergency situations. With its wide-angle and rota-tionally symmetrical light emission, the RESCLITE antipanic luminaire is able to illuminate very large areas in an uniform way. Just one single luminaire is enough to provide orientation for an area of 220 m2 or make escape routes and obstacles visible. Due to the high colour rendering index and ideal glare control, visual conditions are optimised in an emergency. As a new high ceiling luminaire, RESCLITE antipanic ensures vision in rooms with ceiling heights of up to 29 metres.
ONLITE RESCLITE spotRescue and alarm facilities are shown in the right light
First aid facilities, fire-fighting tools and fire-alarm systems off escape routes and outside antipanic lighting systems require special attention according to EN 1838. Measured at ground level, they must be illuminated with at least 5 lx. RESCLITE spot complies with these demands along with high safety and low energy con-sumption. The LED spot can thus be installed anywhere where emergency lighting with higher lighting intensity levels is required. Such applications also include danger areas and safety facilities.
RESCLITE escape high ceilings ensures maximum safety for escape routes in areas with high ceilings
The EN 1838 standard specifies a minimum level of illuminance of 1 lux on the central floor axis for a 2 m wide escape route. RESCLITE escape high ceilings uses a special combination of lenses and reflectors to focus its light onto a long, narrow strip, resulting in coverage of up to 22 m – which is the maximum distance allowed between two luminaires. It is a unique selling proposition of RESCLITE escape high ceilings that it is able to provide illumination in compliance with relevant standards, even at mounting heights of up to 23 m.

RESCLITE antipanic high ceilings ensures safe orientation in areas with high ceilings
In order to reduce the risk of panic in an emergency, EN 1838 requires 1 hour of antipanic lighting with at least 0.5 lux for halls or large conference rooms without clearly defined escape routes. The new RESCLITE antipanic high ceilings luminaire meets this requirement even in rooms with ceilings that are up to 30 m high. Thanks to its rotationally symmetrical wide-angle lighting pattern, a single RESCLITE antipanic high ceilings luminaire is sufficient to uniformly illuminate a surface of 290 m2, provide orientation and ensure that escape routes can be safely reached.

Daylight-based control
Most energy can be saved by integrating a DALI light sensor directly into the TECTON trunking. The daylight entering the room is continuously monitored by this sensor, and – in combination with the appropriate LUXMATE control modules – these measuring values provide the basis for adding just the necessary amount of artificial lighting that is required to ensure the desired level of illuminance.

Presence detector
The TECTON presence detector combines energy saving with high user convenience. It ensures a sufficient level of brightness whenever people or vehicles enter a room or specific areas and, after a defined period of time, automatically switches to a light level of 10 %. In terms of mounting height, the presence detector is also highly flexible: it detects movements from heights ranging from 2.5 m to 10 m. Its installation does not require addressing or com-missioning.
IR multi-sensor with presence detection
To ensure that the lighting is operated at a level of 100 % only if this level of brightness is actually required, the multi-sensor monitors the presence of persons in the rooms and also accepts commands given via the IR-TOUCH infrared remote control. It is also possible to use the remote control for pro-gramming individual lighting scenes for presence and absence. The multi-sensor is designed for use with DALI-based LUXMATE lighting control systems such as DIMLITE, EMOTION and LITECOM.
System limitations:– 25 DALI- or 50 DSI luminaires per channel
Energy saving: – Uses indoor sensor to take daylight into account– Presence detectors– No-load disconnection of electronic ballasts by relay switching
Initial operation:– Auto setup requires relatively little commissioning effort
Add-on functions:– User-configurable lighting scenes – CIRCLE control point and conventional momentary-action switches – Switches
DIMLITE is a simple lighting management system, which nevertheless features the most important convenience and energy-saving functions and is ideal for small appli-cations involving up to 100 DALI luminaires.

Effective luminaires and light sources are the first step. Highly efficient products such as Zumtobel’s LED luminaires make saving energy a sure-fire success. Energy consumption drops by around 25 % where luminaires are fitted with modern, electronic control gear that has a dimming function. Lighting that is only switched on when it is actual-ly needed is the most frugal of all. Presence detectors or predefined switch-on times, recorded, for instance, in LITECOM central building calendar, can reap potential savings of 20 to 40 %.
Natural daylight, which is available free of charge and is the most ac-ceptable kind of light, provides the most efficient lighting of all. Per-fect daylighting makes it possible to save up to 75 % of the energy used for lighting in functional buildings. This free daylight that enters buildings can still be used even if there is sunshading and glare pro-tection. Properly coordinated control of lighting and blinds reduces the cooling load of a building and improves lighting quality as well.
Maximum energy savings are achieved by aggregating all potential savings and continuously maintaining an installation by opting for an individually tailored Zumtobel service package for instance. The result is greater independence in the face of energy price increases and a sustainable drop in costs and CO2 emissions over a period of many years.
Optionally, LITECOM is also available with the “Maintenance Control” function to save energy. In this case, the over-dimensioning of the lighting systems required under the law is compensated for by auto-matic dimming.
In a comparison of eight different continuous-row LED systems regarding the time required for installation of a continuous-row LED system (15 m), independent Refaconsult GmbH found that TECTON LED can be installed considerably faster than comparable products. Time savings of up to 55 per cent certainly save a lot of money. Compared to conventional T16 solutions, 61 per cent of time can be saved on average with a TECTON LED solution. Moreover, TECTON already integrates emergency lighting circuits and DALI control lines.
Framework conditions test setup:
Length of continuous row 15 m, ceiling height 3.7 m, height of continuous row 3.2 m,
2 persons with ladders. The time indicated is for mounting excluding unpacking and
excl. assembly of suspension systems (approx. 30 min).

Calculating axial dimensions with node connectorsIt is very easy to calculate axial dimensions: two connectors together measure 0.5 m. Trunking units are also available in 0.5 m length increments. The axial dimension is therefore always the length of the trunking plus 0.5 m.
L-node connector
T-node connector
X-node connector
Axial dimension (in mm) = length of trunking + 500 mm
TECTON node connector
Example: Axial dimension (135 mm + 365 mm = 500 mm) + Trunking T 1500 to T 4500
