Tech“NOVA”-2012 Organized on February 17th and 18th, 2012
Tech“NOVA”-2012
Tech“NOVA”-2012 is a national level symposium conducted on 17-18 February 2012,
by Nova College of Engineering and Technology, Jupudi, Ibrahimpatnam which is one of
the six sister branches of Nova Educational Society (NES), Hyderabad. It primarily
consisted of paper presentation, poster presentation and model exhibition contests
together with few spot events combined in all disciplines of engineering. The aim of
organizing this technical festival is to provide a platform for students to exhibit their
innovative ideas. It provides an opportunity to interact with each other, to share their
experiences, knowledge and efforts. We believe that when the knowledge is shared, it
gets integrated. Another objective of this event is to encourage the students from various
institutions to brainstorm on the latest developments in the technology and science. In
addition, it has also given the students a chance to have some fun and frolic by
participating in various cultural events. By and large, the students have found three things
by this event they are: Education, Entertainment and Exposure. Under the leadership of
Lion M. Krishna Rao, Honorable Secretary and Mrs. M. Vijaya Niramala, President of
Nova Educational Society, the institution is marching ahead taking up the new challenges
in the competitive world.
The advancement in the technology has erased the barriers in the different disciplines and
it has become interdisciplinary and or multidisciplinary. Therefore in order to encourage
the participation by the students of different branches under one roof this conference is
open to the students of all branches of engineering. There was no restriction put on
students of one branch to submit a paper in another branch. Overall, there was
overwhelming response for this event from far and wide.
Beginning
Tech“NOVA”-2012 began with the initiative of Dr. K. Rama Krishnaiah, Principal, Nova
College of Engineering and Technology. His utmost commitment and his leadership
qualities have been the prime reason in making this event a grand success. Dr. S. Uma
Maheswara Rao, Convenor of Tech“NOVA”-2012 has put his heart and soul into this
event to make it a remarkable one in the history of Nova Educational Society. His efforts
have eventually been paid off, as the event has got a tremendous response from the
students from various colleges all across Andhra Pradesh and the nearby states.
The event Tech“NOVA”-2012 was planned for 4 months prior to Feb 17th
, 2012. A series
of faculty and HOD meets were conducted to discuss the progress of the event every
week. To begin the first physical work, a publicity poster was designed which is shown
below. This poster was the effort of three third year NCET students, S. Manikanta (Civil),
VSS. Pavan (ECE) and B. Santhosh (ECE).

In order to increase the beauty of the NCET ground, a Rangoli competition was
organized on the eve of this symposium. Below are some of the beautiful rangolis
depicting the extra-curricular talents of our students.

Vice Chancellor, JNTUK, Kakinada was invited to deliver his valuable inaugural speech.
Also, senior academicians from universities were invited to evaluate the presentations
and also to advise the students. After the completion of the program, we hope all the
student-participants utilized this opportunity to improve their inherent talents on this
platform.
