A personal timeline of technology

My name is Melanie Marciel

I graduated from Waiākea High School on the Big Island in 2002

I first went to college at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa in 2002

When I finish my degree, I hope to become an academic counselor at the University of

Hawai‘i at Hilo

• Learned how to use the very basics of computers in the 5th grade

• Started using powerpoint presentations in class

• Arrival of ipods during my junior year (2001)

• A lot of students had laptops

• Powerpoint was used for most lectures

• Some teachers put their lectures

on podcasts
