This technical manual has been developed to provide the necessary assistance in the installation to those companies that held the BUSing®Partner o are BUS-ing®Installer certify and who also work with INGE-NIUM's BUSing® Communications Equipment. • The BUSing® Certificates are obtained by taking training

courses that INGENIUM organizes periodically.

• For more information contact us: (+34) 985 118 859 - [email protected]

In the following pages you will fin detailed character-istics and techniques, a brief description and a con-nection sketch for INGENIUM’s equipment. • The end of the manual shows examples of different

types of installations: centralized, distributed, mixed, prolonged and extended; besides several integrations schemes with devices from other companies.

• It also includes information on programming software developed by INGENIUM, the BUSing® Development Sys-tem (SIDE), as well as the APPs to control BUSing® in-stallations.

Ingenium is a vanguard company dedicated since 1998 to the design, development and manufacturing of the highest domotics technology.

From the beginning we have been conscious of the necessity to approach this emergent market with high standards of quality and focusing on R&D. This allows us to innovate without neglecting the manufacturing process while making us confident of our effort. Our focus causes that every year more people approach our system.

Our system BUSing® totally open and free of royal-ties, allows other manufacturers to design equip-ment under our standards and specifications, as well as the development of integrations on other devices or gateway with other standards.

Our products are versatile and intuitive, guarantee-ing comfort, security and energy efficiency without forgetting design; basic pillars on which our con-cept of domotics is founded. This is how we elabo-rate our catalogue.

• It is strictly recommended to use shielded and flexible cable for the wiring of the data BUS (Cable BUSing®).

• In no case should be used the power wiring pipes for wiring BUS or inputs signals, because it is SELV signals.

• Ingenium is not responsible for the improper function-ing of the system in the case of a star-wiring BUS. It is recommended to use a BUS topology.

• The number of required power supplies can vary de-pending on wiring distances between devices and the installation in general.

• Ingenium always recommend the use of protection, both in electrical line and telephone line, to prevent possible damage by power surges.

• To ensure the proper functioning of communications, especially in electrically noisy installations, an End-BUS device must be placed in the beginning and an-other one at the end of the bus line.

•The system is virtually unlimited, and can count up to 255 devices or nodes per line, up to 255 lines. It rep-resents more than 65,000 devices with more than 300,000 outputs in the same installation.

• It is fully scalable and new devices can be always added in an already existing installation. Installed de-vices can be also reprogrammed at any time.

•The communications protocol, BUSing®, can be wired (4-wire BUS) or wireless (868 MHz frequency, grouped in our WINGS-RF trademark). Both types can coexist in the same installation estab-lishing communications between different ways of communication.

•Both the programming and implementation must be carried out exclusively by installers / integrators who are certified BUSing®.

• Indicated to be placed inside homes, buildings, etc.

• Avoid installation in places exposed to direct sunlight and drafts. Also, avoid placing these detectors behind large objects as these will reduce their detection reach.

Configuration using Development System (SIDE) • 2 programmable scenes for activation and deactivation of the sensor.

(2 for the movement sensor and 2 for the light sensor) • Up to 30 programmable BUS events for each scene.

Description

The magnetic detectors have two physically separate pieces. The smaller one has a magnet and the bigger one has an integrated circuit which can detect the presence or absence of the smaller piece.

They can be used for the following functions:

• Anti-intruder security device: that detects when an unwanted door or window opening.

• Air control devices for energy saving: on detecting that a window has been opened, it will (having been programmed) cut off the air conditioning or heating accordingly.

They are installed in zones close to door or window openings in the moving part, so that the sensor detects the slightest movement or displacement.

The smaller piece is installed on the edge of the window which is closest to the window opening.

• The smaller piece (magnet) is installed on the edge of the window which is closest to the window opening.

• The bigger piece is installed on the window frame and with its detecting side facing the magnet.

Configuration using Development System (SIDE) • 2 programmable scenes for activation and deactivation of the sensor. • Up to 60 programmable BUS events for each scene.

• Coupling between main and secondary lines

• Selective management of traffic between secondary lines

• 2 BUSing® connections: 1 – principal line / 2 – secondary line

• DIN rail mounting (2 modules)

Description

The ROUTing is a device that attaches BUS secondary lines to a main line and allows selective filtering of traffic to some devices.

The division of an installation in primary and secondary lines is very advantageous because it allows separating data traffic local to each secondary line, without affecting the data sent to other lines, furthermore allowing that in case of failure of one of them, only affected this line, leaving the rest perfectly communicated.

Its use is recommended in installations with more than 150 nodes and essential in installa-tions with more than 255 nodes.

Configuration using Development System (SIDE) • Select the communication speed of main trunk (baud). • Configuring the selective filtering of traffic nodes.

Clima zoning installation [ ZBUS ] 1

This page shows an example of climate installation by zones. The central unit, MasterClima-Z, is responsible for facilitat-ing the entire zoning process. It has up to 8 outputs to control the radiant floor; this scheme is showing a connection to 2 zones/electrovalves. There are two integration options for air conditioning (direct or via BUSing®). The ZBUS connec-tion is used for thermostats and motorized grilles, which is detailed on the following page.

Clima zoning installation [ ZBUS ] 2

This is an example of the ZBUS branch of climate installation by zones. Here is where the zone thermostats and actua-tors that connect the motorized grids are integrated. These devices must be compatible with the ZBUS protocol. They have a selector to assign their number/zone ID. The ZBUS is a two-wire connection without polarity, making easier the entire installation process.
