1 Introduction
1.1 ScopeThis techical appendix applies to Hägglunds DUe drive unit, a hydraulic power unit. It specifies the general requi-rements for the selection, design, manufacture, supply, inspection and testing of the DUe, and shall be read in conjunction with Product catalogue Hägglunds DUe, RE 15325-01.Any deviation from this specification shall be approved in advance by Bosch Rexroth.

1.3 SafetyThis product is made in accordance with the generally accepted state of the art but there is a risk of personal injury and damage to property unless you follow the safety instructions.
1.3.1 Intended useHägglunds DUe drive unit is classified as a partly completed machinery in the sense of the EU machine directive 2006/42/EC. A partly completed machinery is exclusively intended to form an incomplete or a complete machine together with other components or partly completed machineries. The DUe may only be commissioned after it has been installed in the machine/system for which it is intended and the safety of the entire system has been established in accordance with the machine directive.
The product is intended for the following use:• Create hydraulic flow in a closed loop hydraulic sytem.
1.3.2 Improper useAny use other than that described as intended use shall be considered as improper and is therefore impermissible.Bosch Rexroth shall accept no liability whatsoever for damage resulting from improper use. The user shall bear all risks arising from improper use.Similarly, the following foreseeable faulty usages are also considered to be improper:• Using outside the operating parameters approved in the
product-specific data sheet or in the order confirmation (unless customer-specific approval has been granted).
• Use of fluids outside of the standards as specified in data sheet RE 15414 Hydraulic fluid quick reference.
• Modification of factory settings by non-authorized persons.
• Extension or conversion is not permissible and has to be approved by contact at Bosch Rexroth.
• Using the Hägglunds DUe in explosive environments unless the component or machine/system has been certified as compliant with the local regulations.
• Using the Hägglunds DUe in an aggressive atmosphere without necessary additional measures.

1.4 WarrantyStandard warranty period for a Hägglunds DUe are 18 months from date of commissioning but not longer than 24 months from date of delivery from the production plant.
With Bosch Rexroth service contract, the warranty period can be negotiated. For a hydraulic system the warranty period can be extended to 36 month from date of commis-sioning but not longer than 42 months from date of delivery from the production plant.
The commissioning has to be performed by a Bosch Rex-roth certified service technician.
Standard warranty period for items that are not commissio-ned by a Bosch Rexroth are 18 months from date of deli-very from the production plant.
1.3.3 Personnel qualificationsThe activities described in this documentation require basic mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge, as well as knowledge of the associated technical terms. For transporting and handling the product, additional knowledge is necessary with regard to working with a lifting device and the corresponding attachment equipment. In order to ensure safe use, these activities maythereforeonlybecarriedoutbyappropriatequalifiedpersonnel or an instructed person under the direction and supervisionofqualifiedpersonnel.Qualifiedpersonnelarethosewhocanrecognizepossiblehazards and institute the appropriate safety measures due to their professional training, knowledge, and experience, as well as their understanding of the relevant regulations pertainingtotheworktobedone.Qualifiedpersonnelmust observe the rules relevant to the subject area and have the necessary hydraulic, electric and automation knowledge.
Hydraulic knowledge means, for instance: • Reading and fully understanding hydraulic diagram, • Fully understanding in particular the interrelationships regarding safety devices and having knowledge on the function and assembly of hydraulic components.
Electric knowledge means, for instance: • Reading and fully understanding of electrical diagrams • Certificationforworkwithelectricalequipment
Automation knowledge means, for instance: • Reading and fully understanding of logic diagrams • Knowledge of programmable equipment (PLC, VFD etc)

2 Technical design
2.1 Functions Hägglunds DUeThe Hägglunds DUe provides the hydraulic motor(s) with required hydraulic oil flow and pressure together with system control functionality.
The DUe is divided into three basic sizes depending on electric motor power and hydraulic flow requirements:• Small (S)• Medium (M)• Large (L)
The DUe is built with two or three hydraulic compart-ments which contains one with the hydraulic oil tank and one or two with the electric motor/pump combination. All compartments are assembled in one common cabinet. The basic combinations will be DUe S2, DUe S3, DUe M2, DUe M3, DUe L2 and DUe L3. A single compartment cabi-net can be added to the M and L variants for higher flow requirements, for emergency drives or as standby unit.
The Hägglunds DUe supports functionality for one or two driven machine shafts. Functions as cold/warm flushing and brake circuits for the hydraulic motors are available when needed.
The Hägglunds DUe is available for:• Power ranges from 11 kW to 2 x 500 kW• Flow ranges up to 3 000 lpm at 1 500 rpm (3 600 lpm
at 1 800 rpm)• Working pressure max 350 bar
Multiple drive units can be combined into a larger system.
The Hägglunds DUe has an embedded control system with a large variety of configurable functionality to simplify thecontrol and monitoring of the hydraulic drive. The control system is pre-programmed, easy to reconfigure and con-tains functions as:• Variable-speed control• Speed feedback• Power limitation• Industrial fieldbus communication• Analog and digital signal monitoring• Pressure control (torque control)
and application specific functions as:• Friction control• Shedder control• Synchronized control
The local control panel is separated from the main control box, communicates via a CAN interface and can be placedup to 100 m from main control box.
All internal sensors are pre-wired to the control system. Monitoring of the drive unit sensors is handled internally according to Fig. 2.
The DUe can be delivered without control system if requi-red. All electrical wiring for sensors and pump control will be wired to a junction box assembled on the side of the drive unit. Card for pump control can be assembled as an alternative.
The connections to sensors and actuators are distributed via I/O boxes with a multi cable on the control system/junction box side and M12 connectors on the sensor/actuator side, see Fig. 3. The actuators/sensors are indivi-dually connected with a multi cable from the M12 connec-tors on the I/O box. The cables has an outer sheet of PUR that is halogene free but the conductors has an insulation with PVC that is not halogene free.

2.2 Site Conditions
2.2.1 Ambient temperatureHägglunds DUe can be used in environments with ambient temperature from -40°C to +50°C.For temperatures outside of range 0°C to +40°C, adjust-ments will be done to the drive unit.
2.2.2 AltitudeHägglunds DUe can be used at altitudes up to 5000 masl. For altitudes above 1000 masl, adjustments will be done to the drive unit.
2.2.3 Hazardous areaThe DUe can be adapted to work in explosive gas zone. The specification according to ATEX directive is Group II, Zone 1, Category 2G, Explosion group IIC, Temp class T4. This requires special electric components and special handling of electric connections to limit the power in the explosive zone.
2.2.4 Sound levelsHägglunds low speed hydraulic motors generate very low sound levels due to the low speed. The dominating sound sources in a hydraulic drive system are the drive unit and the piping system.
Hägglunds offers three options with regard to the drive unit sound levels. Sound values below are the average LPA sur-face sound pressure levels according to ISO 3746 and doesn’t include external piping.
• DUe with panels, 70-80 dB(A) – standard solution• DUe with noise reduction solution, 68-78 dB(A)
– optional solution• DUe without panels, 75-90 dB(A) – optional solution
Sound levels are calculated for drive units with water cooler.
2.3 Design lifeApplication drive data and expected design life are para-meters that will determined the configuration and design of the DUe.
Design life for a DUe are determined by one of its main component, the hydraulic pump.
2.4 Hazardous substances - Asbestos contentAll Hägglunds products are free from asbestos when delivered from Bosch Rexroth.

3.5 Surface treatmentThe frame work of the drive unit is painted according to the following requirements:
3.5.1 Paint specification Frames: Color black RAL 9005Painted according to ISO 12944
Pre treatment and ground coating:• Degrease with alkaline detergent.• Blast Sa 2 1/2 according to SIS 055900.
Continued with dust extraction.• Paint Temazinc EE, thickness dry 30-50 µm.
Finishing painting• Paint Duasolid H50, thickness dry 120-190 µm.
Total painting thickness minimum 150 µm
Panels and top cover: Color orange RAL 2002Painted according to ISO 12944

3.6 Welding specificationAll welding of frame work and tank are in accordance toISO 2553 and ISO 3834.
The qualifications of welding personnel are in accordance to ISO 3834 for the work they are engaged to carry out.
Weld symbols are in accordance to ISO 2553. Where specified, welded components are stress relieved. No further welding shall be permitted after stress relieving unless prior written approval Bosch Rexroth. Certificates for welding procedure specification (WPS) and welding procedure qualification records (WPQR) are availa-ble on request, see Table 8 page 19 for details.
3.7 Oil panThe bottom part of the DU is designed to work as an oil pan for leakage oil. The oil can be removed from the pan via a drain tap on the front side.

5.1 Delivery testAll Hägglunds DUe are production tested before delivery from the production plant, the purpose of the production test is to verify the customer demands in respect to fun-ction, performance and surface finish.The delivery test of Hägglunds DUe are performed by authorized personal and documented in a test protocol, based on technical specification of the DUe. All components are controlled and set so that only minor adjustments are needed at commissioning on site. Setting and control of pressure, voltage, flow, etc. is done with calibrated measure equipment.
5.2 Noise test (optional at order)Noise test of Hägglunds DUe are performed by an external company. The measuring conditions are according to ISO 3746 and ISO 11202. The measurements are performed with 3 different load cases:• Idling• Working pressure (0% flow)• Hydraulic pressure at approx. 50 bar (100% flow)
The reported result shows the measured sound pressure level (LPA) at 1 m distance from the drive unit and the calculated sound power level (LWA).Noise test and its certificate is available on request, see Table 8.
5.3 Factory acceptance test (optional at order)
The following will be shown during the factory acceptance test (FAT):• Limited delivery test of the DUe (pressure settings)• Review of order specific documentation.
Date for attendance at FAT will be notified approx. 14 days before the delivery date.

6 Logistics
6.1 GeneralThis chapter describes the standard procedure for packing of Hägglunds DUe with accessories. It also describes how Hägglunds product are shipped and how they should be handled during transportation and installation. It also point out requirements for storages of Hägglunds products on site
6.2 ShippingAll items are not assembled in the DUe due to practically, safety and logistically reasons.
Standard item not assembled at delivery. Standard items that aren’t assembled are top cover, filter element (spare parts) and cooler assembly.The main electrical motor is not assembled if the top of the electric motor is above the lifting lug on the frame.
Optional item not assembled at delivery. Optional items that aren’t assembled are sound trap, cabinet feet, levelling pipes and high pressure hoses
6.3 PackagingHägglunds products are packed in wooden crates or on pallets. That will give adequate protection against mecha-nical damage and atmospheric corrosion during shipping, transportation, handling and storage.
6.3.1 Packing procedure DUeThe standard packing procedure for a DUe is divided into several steps.
The DUe is then covered and sealed with a plastic hood. Labels on the hood show the centre of gravity for the DUe
Desiccant bags
Desiccant bags are place inside the DUe to absorb moisture thus atmospheric corrosion is avoided during shipping and storage.

A wooden crate is then built for cover and mechanical protection of the DUe.As standard, the top of the crate is rain protected with a plastic film and is on all vertical walls marked with centre of gravity, fork lifting points and weight.
6.3.2 Packing procedure other itemsThese items are packaged in plastic hoods and a VCI foam pad is placed inside the hood before it will be sealed. This gives an adequate protection against atmospheric corrosion during shipping and storage. These items are placed in separate wooden crates or on pallets.
6.3.3 CratesThe crates are made of plywood that conforms to ISPM No. 15.
The building process of the crates are that walls and roof are nailed together, after that a number of metal straps are tightened around the crate.
6.4 Lifting methodsThe DUe package is designed for forklift truck handling and an unpacked DUe can also be lifted with ropes/chains.Items that are delivered in separate crates or on pallets, these are only designed for forklift truck handling and are always marked with the weight.

6.5 Storage conditions at siteThe DUe (including parts delivered separately) should be stored indoors. The plastic hood in a crate or on a pallet should not be open or removed before installation.
6.5.1 Storage condition on site for DUeAt delivery, the DUe is protected with desiccant bags to absorb moisture and sealed with a plastic hood. This provi-des sufficient atmospheric corrosion protection for indoor storage up to 12 months from delivery date.If storage time exceeds 12 months the desicant bags has to be exchanged, the crate must be opened to access the plastic hood.
6.5.2 Storage condition on site for other itemAt delivery, the separate delivered items are protected with VCI foam pads and sealed with a plastic hood.This provides sufficient atmospheric corrosion protection for indoor storage up to 18 months from delivery date.
If storage time exceeds 18 months, the VCI protection has to be extended.
