Dear Parents The Re-opening of the Yarning Circle and the handing over of the $10,000 cheque by the ANZ was a great afternoon celebration. Thanks to all the Gumbaynggirr elders and mob, our school staff throughout the V10 schools, students and community members that made this such an outstanding event. The Director of Education for the Mid North Coast, Mr Glen Pleasance described the school as an exemplary demonstration of a high performing school with a high level of community engagement. The TAFE students were certainly the proudest of all as they received a gift of a work shirt each with ‘Gumbaynggirr Pathways of Learning’ printed on the back. Thanks to Toni Jones for the lovely afternoon tea and April Miller for helping make the day such a success. See attached the photos and media release. This week we have started the two swimming programs in two locations which has been a great success. The highlights have been the excellent behaviour of the students as they have challenged themselves to be better than the day before. The partnership that has been formed with the local surf club is the beginning of an ongoing relationship. The great news is this program will be available to the whole school next term as we will be one of four schools in Australia to be piloting the Surf Safety Program. Thanks to all involved in both highly beneficial programs It with great pleasure that I wish our Robotics team, Bu Emma and Mr Johnson the best of luck as they head to Sydney to compete in the First Lego Challenge. They will be leaving on Sunday and returning on Tuesday afternoon. Pak Lawrie will be taking the senior class in Mr Johnsons absence. Thanks for your continued support.
