A learning management system is for documenting tracking and reporting educational material (Levensaler, Leighann, Lauranon, Madeline 2009)

The management systems I like are Near pod, and Quizlet

  One of the nice features of nearpod is that you can import your existing power point into the program and then add interactivity.

  One of the benefits of nearpod is its ability to have Quizzes, polls, videos, and drawing boards

  Limitations the free version of nearpod doesn’t allow for student homework that is available at the silver level that level also doesn’t provide for adequate storage.

  One of the best feature of nearpod is that nearpod lessons can put grades into the canvas platform

  The apps interactivity aids in educational success

  Quizlet is a program that allows you to make digital flash cards for terms you want to learn.

  Quizlet can be created by you or you can use an existing set of cards.

  To find cards that could apply to your lessons you can type in the title of your text book and see what's available

  One of the big benefits are the the thousands of already existing cards available for your use free.

  With the free version you are limited by classes and class size

Web creation tools

  Word press is the web creation tool I like the most it is very popular and responsible for a large number of web sites that are active today

  Wix is another web creation tool. Like word press it has many templates you can use I like word press for the ability to save and export you files this does happen with wix but only the paid version

  Word press has many templates and works well with Google

  Limitations of wordpress is that it would be difficult to work with large data if you wanted to set up a mason like store

  Word press is free for 2 web sites and cost 4.99 a month for more

Web 2.0 tools

  Web 2.0 tools are apps that can help keep your online class organized. They are effective because they for the most part take up little room on your computer as they are web based.(Oedb 2006-2018)

  Grammerly is a a great tool that helps with spelling and grammar

  Teacher planet is a place teachers can download resources from lessons to worksheets

Part 2 reflection   I shared this document with Dave Pipp a college instructor at WCTC He is

somewhat of a skeptic. We discussed at length how much we as teachers are enabling students by turning everything into games for them. He did like my presentation and said that one the things that held him back from implanting these types of things is that the time needed to turn lessons into multimedia presentations seemed impossible to find for him. He was impressed with how several of the programs will let you import existing power point presentations. He said that the programs like quizlet that can help you find existing sets of lessons may not be applicable to him because he teaches such a specialized class. Dave & I also discussed the reoccurring them that the basic software is free but for the better functionality it seems to require the paid version of the software. Dave seemed most willing to use quizlet especially with the safety test stuff he is required to do. He & I discussed how this type of application could be used with a variety of student abilities to achieve good results. The students who get wont need to do quizlet over again and again but those requiring more help would go through the flash cards over and over to gain mastery. He & I also discussed the quizlet live feature as test prep. Edpuzzle was his second choice because he felt he did not like the terminology of certain videos. With edpuzzle he could change that.
