Microsoft Exchange allows you to easily send and receive e-mail and fax messages.

To open Exchange, double-click the Inbox icon on the desktop.

Exchange displays this message as the program is loading.

Clicking the Show/Hide Folder List button displays Exchange’s folders.

The four standard folders in Exchange are:•Deleted Items - Holds deleted messages•Inbox - Holds messages that have been sent to you•Outbox - Holds outgoing messages until they are sent•Sent Items - Stores messages after they are sent

The contents of each folder are listed here. In this case, the Inbox folder has been selected.

To send a fax message, click Compose, and then click New Fax on the Menu bar.

Exchange will assist you until the fax message is ready to send. Here, you can select your dialing location and other dialing properties.

Next, you are prompted to input the recipient’s name, fax number, and other information. Then, click the Add to List button to continue.

After you have entered all the recipients for the fax, click the Next button to continue.

Here, you can add a cover page to your fax message. Click the desired options, and then click the Next button to continue.

Next, enter a subject, and the fax message, and then click the Next button to continue.

One final step before you finish the fax message is attaching files to the fax, if you choose. This allows you to send documents from Microsoft Word, Excel, or other applications with the fax.

Click Finish to send the fax. The message will be stored in the Outbox until it has been successfully transmitted, and then will be moved to the Sent Items folder.

To send an e-mail message in Exchange, click the New Message button on the toolbar, or click Compose, and then click New Message on the Menu bar.

The message composition window opens, allowing you to enter an Internet e-mail address, subject and message body.

If your computer is on a network, you can click the To button to select another user on the network as a message recipient.

When you are ready to send the message, you can click the Send button to deliver the message to the recipient.

The message is moved to the Sent Items folder after it has been delivered.
