THE TRUE GOD IS

ONE

Page 3: Tawheed 2

And your Ilâh (God) is One Ilâh (God - Allâh), Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (there is none who has the right tobe worshipped but He), the Most

Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

4:171

O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say ofAllâh aught but the truth. The Messiah 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was (no more than) aMessenger of Allâh and His Word, ("Be!" - and he was) which He bestowed on Maryam (Mary) anda spirit (Rûh) created by Him; so believe in Allâh and His Messengers. Say not:

"Three (trinity)"!Cease! (it is) better for you. For Allâh is (the only) One Ilâh (God), Glory be to Him (Far Exalted isHe) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allâh is AllSufficient as a Disposer of affairs.

5:73

Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "Allâh is the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary)".

But the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)] said: "O Children of Israel! Worship Allâh, my Lord and your Lord".

Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allâh, then Allâh has forbidden Paradise for him,and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are no helpers. (John 20:17)Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "What thing is the most great in witness?" Say: "Allâh (the Most Great!) isWitness between me and you; this Qur'ân has been revealed to me that I may therewith warn youand whomsoever it may reach. Can you verily bear witness that besides Allâh there are other alihâ

(gods "?)Say "I bear no (such) witness!" Say: "But in truth He (Allâh) is the only one Ilâh (God). Andtruly I am innocent of what you join in worship with Him".

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?" Say: "(It is) Allâh." Say:

"Have you then taken (for worship) Auliyâ' (protectors, etc.) other than Him, such as have no powereither for benefit or for harm to themselves?" Say: "Is the blind equal to the one who sees? Ordarkness equal to light? Or do they assign to Allâh partners who created the like of His creation, sothat the creation (which they made and His creation) seemed alike to them." Say: "Allâh is theCreator of all things, He is the One, the Irresistible".

This (Qur'ân) is a Message for mankind (and a clear proof against them), in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is the only One Ilâh (God - Allâh) - (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh), and that men of understanding may take heed.

14:52

Your Ilâh (God) is One Ilâh (God Allâh, none has the right to be worshipped but He). But for thosewho believe not in the Hereafter, their hearts deny (the faith in the Oneness of Allâh), and they areproud.

16:22

Page 10: Tawheed 2

10

And Allâh said (O mankind!): "Take not ilâhaîn (two gods in worship, etc.). Verily, He (Allâh) is (the)only One Ilâh (God). Then, fear Me (Allâh swt) much [and Me (Alone), i.e. be away from all kinds ofsins and evil deeds that Allâh has forbidden and do all that Allâh has ordained and worship none butAllâh.

16:51

11

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I am only a man like you. It has been inspired to me that your Ilâh (God)is One Ilâh (God i.e. Allâh). So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him workrighteousness and associate none as a partner in the

worship of his Lord".

18:110

Page 12: Tawheed 2

12

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It is revealed to me that your Ilâh (God) is only one Ilâh (God - Allâh). Willyou then submit to His Will (become Muslims and stop worshipping others besides

Allâh)"?

21:108

Page 13: Tawheed 2

13

• Verily your Ilâh (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allâh);Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of thesun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allâh).

37 :4-5

Say, ―I am only a warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the All-Dominant ,

the Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Mighty, the Very-Forgiving.

38:65-66

•Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I am only a human being like you. It is inspired in me that your Ilâh (God)

•is One Ilâh (God - Allâh), therefore take Straight Path to Him (with true Faith Islâmic Monotheism)

•and obedience to Him, and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe to Al-Mushrikûn (the disbelievers in the

•Oneness of Allâh, polytheists, idolaters, etc. - see V.2:105).

16

Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)): "He is Allâh, (the) One

"Allâh-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks).

"He begets not, nor was He begotten"And there is none co-equal or comparable

unto Him."
