• The Association of the Commonwealth Universities is

the world’s first and oldest international university

network which was established in 1913.

• ACU is a UK registered charity with over 500 member

institutions in developed and developing countries all

over the world across the Commonwealth

• ACU addresses the issues on International higher

education through a wide range of projects, networks

and events.

• The ACU administers scholarships, provides academic

research and leadership on issues in the sector, and

promotes inter-university cooperation and the sharing

of good practice – helping universities serve their

communities, now and into the future.

the Association of Commonwealth Universities from 1980

to 1996. In 1986, Queen Elizabeth II became patron of the

• Up to 15 scholarships are available during 2014-2015 for

international students to study for Master’s degrees at

universities in ten low and middle income Commonwealth

countries, including Bangladesh, Barbados, Ghana and South

Africa.
