Needs Analysis

• All the activities used to collect information about the students' learning needs, wants, wishes, desires, etc.

• Can you answer:– “what evidence do we have that our audience needs

this education?”– “what evidence do we have that our solution will yield

positive results?”– “what is the reason that we are offering education in

this format?”

Task Analysis

• Is the process of analyzing and articulating the kind of learning that you expect the learners to know how to perform– Classifying tasks according to learning outcomes– Inventorying tasks – Selecting tasks– Decomposing tasks– Sequencing tasks and sub-tasks

Learner Analysis

• Data collected about learner group that is used to impact decisions throughout the instructional process
