3. SERIES CIRCUITS

The same wire, no branches.

Adding more bulbs to a simple circuit will make the bulbs darker.

In a series circuit, if a bulb blows, the other components stop working.

Vocabulary:Wire= cable

Branches= ramas

Darker= más oscuro

Blow= fundirse

EXERCISE D: SERIES CIRCUITSDesign the following circuits by using

1.) Series Circuit with one light bulb, switch, and 4.5 V cell.

2.) Series Circuit with 2 bulbs:

3.) Series Circuit with 3 bulbs:

Crocclip.exe

1. What is a series circuit?

2. What happens when you add more bulbs in a circuit and the battery has the same power?

Vocabulary:Brightness= brilloSeries Circuit= circuito serieBulb= bombillaSwitch= InterruptorVolts= voltios (unidad de medida de la

energía potencial de las pilas o baterias

4. PARALLEL CIRCUITSDifferent wires, some branches.

In a parallel circuit, if a bulb blows , the other components keep working.

The bulbs stay bright if you add more bulbs in parallel.

Vocabulary:Wire= cable

Branches= ramas

Bright= brillar

Keep= mantener

EXERCISE E:PARALLEL CIRCUITSDesign the following circuits by using

Crocclip.exe

1. What is a parallel circuit?2. What is an advantage of a parallel circuit?3. What happens to the brightness of the light bulbs in a parallel circuit when another light bulb is added?

1) Parallel Circuit with 2 bulbs and a 4.5 Volts battery.

2) Parallel Circuit with 3 bulbs and a 4.5 Volts battery

Vocabulary:Parallel circuit = circuito paraleloVolts= voltios (unidad de medida de la energía potencial de las pilas o baterias)Add= sumar, añadirBrightness= brillo
