HISTORY Mid-1950s the idea was conceived by Malik Aftab

In 1994 Discussions started between both governments
in 1995 a preliminary agreement was signed
In 1999 a preliminary agreement between Iran and India was signed.
In 2009, India withdrew from the project over pricing and security issues

*PIP gas pipe line also known as peace pipeline
*Length 1880 kilometers, Pakistan side 780 Km.
*21.5 million cubic meters per day
*The project will support around 4,000 MW power generation capacity.
