Day2(May10th,2020):Meettheelves,ReykjanesToday,youwillexploreReykjanespeninsula.FirststopisinthetownofHafnarfjörður–Iceland´s second largest town, located just in thegreater areaofReykjavik. There you
will make a first stop in “the elf´s garden” Hellisgerði where your guide will tell youmore about the elves and trolls living in this garden. I recommend you also visit thenearbyElfHouse,asmallinformationcentrewithelf-themedartworksandhandicraftsas well as food and beverages. You continue your tour to the Reykjanes peninsula,where you visit next the famous bridge between continents. Next up is a stop atGunnuhver geothermal area,where you can see and smell the steam coming up frominner earth.Nearby is Reykjanesviti lighthouse,which is Iceland’s first lighthouse. Thecliffrightatthelighthouseisverypopularfornestingbirds.Returning to Reykjavík about 15:00, you can either relax in your hotel or do somefurther exploration on your own. Day3(May11th,2020):TheGoldenCircleAnotherdayfullofinterestingsightstoexplore.TodayyourjourneytakesyoualongthebeautifulGoldenCircle.First,yourguidetakesyoutoÞingvellirNationalPark.Þingvellir,becauseofitsbeautyanditsgeologicalandhistoricalvalue,wasacceptedasaUNESCOWorldHeritageSitein2004.ThisisthesitewheretheVikingsfirstassembledinancienttimes. After exploring the treasures of the park, you will head south to see GeysirSpouting Spring and Gullfoss waterfall to complete the “Golden Circle”. Enjoy theafternoon seeing the sizzling hot springs and geysers and the force of the greatwaterfall.Youraccommodationwillbeinthearea.
Day4(May12th,2020):TheSouthCoastToday youwill head to the famous South of Iceland. After breakfast and packing, youwill travel east to the picturesquewaterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss. Above the
waterfalls, you can get a glimpse of Eyjafjallajökull where the great volcanic eruptiontookplacein2010.YoumakeanotherstopatthemysticalReynisfjarablackbeach.Yourguidewill tell youmoreaboutReynisdrangar cliffs and their connection to thehiddenfolk.
Day5(May13th,2020):VatnajökullandGlacierLagoonVatnajökullNationalParkcanbeexploredtoday.Theamphibianboattourintheglacierlagoon Jökulsarlón with an exciting view of the glacier growing into the lagoon.ThedaywillendinHöfn.
Day6(May14th,2020):EastofIcelandTimetotravelthetranquilandbeautifulEastFjordsofIceland.AfterpassingDjúpivogur,you will explore the East Coast of Iceland. Day9(May17th,2020):NorthofIcelandToday you will continue your journey along the north. On your way to Akureyri (the“Capital of theNorth”) youwillmake a stop at the charmingGoðafosswaterfall. This
waterfallisasignificantlandmarkinIcelandichistoryandmythology.Yourguidewilltellyouthestoryabout thissiteandhow itcameby itsname. InAkureyriwerecommendthatyouvisittheChristmashouseandvisitthenearbyKaffiKucafé.Yourguidewillalsotake you to the Akureyri Church, situated on a hilltop overlooking the centre of thetown.
Day10(May18th,2020):PearlsintheWestofIcelandIt’s time to continue your Iceland travel. You will leave the north behind and startmaking your way to the beautiful west of Iceland. There you will visit some furtherhighlightsbeforefinishingyourroundtourinReykjavik intheevening.SightsalongthewayareHraunfossarwaterfalls,Deildartunguhver(thelargesthotspringinEurope)andtheSettlementCenter inBorgarnes.
