SALTASalta is a city in northwestern Argentina and the capital city of the Salta Province.

Salta's climate is warm and dry with little rain during the summer months.

SALTAThe city holds different attractions: colonial houses, the cathedral, the Museo de Arqueología de Alta Montaña de Salta and "Train to the Clouds," the world's highest-altitude railway.

The adventure sports are: Rafting, parachuting, mountaineering, 4 wheel drives, trekking, navigation and mountain biking.

TRADITIONAL GASTRONOMY

The trademark dishes include

asado, carbonada, ensaimada, locro and the regional

empanadas, tamales, etc.

SANTIAGO DEL ESTEROSantiago del Estero is located in the north of the country.

Most of this province has a sub-tropical climate with a dry season.

It has historical buildings, museums and Termas de Río Hondo.

TRADITIONAL GASTRONOMY A typical dish in this province is

"llunchao", prepared with toasted cornflour, with a filling of red peppers, onion, white pepper and salt.

Another is "Quesadilla", prepared as a biscuit sandwich. Other alfajores (soft biscuits with sweet filling) are filled with dulce de leche (caramel cream) and dipped in vanilla or chocolate.

FORMOSAFormosa is in northeast Argentina, part of the

Gran Chaco Region. The capital is Formosa.

Its climate is sub-tropical, with steady rainfall all year round in the east, while the rest of the

territory has a dry season in winter.

The main attractions are the Government House, the front of the Cathedral called "Nuestra

Señora del Carmen", the tannin factory and the river resort by Paraguay River where an

interesting practice of sport fishing is allowed.

TRADITIONAL GASTRONOMYThe most popular dishes of

this type are: barbecue, boiled meat, stews, chanfainas, black sausage, beef sausage, locro, and soup prepared with toasted corn. The basic foods are beans, corn, mandioc, sweet potatoes, fish and wild game. The mandioca and sweet potato replace bread as diet items, and chipa cuerito is common.

CORRRIENTESIt is a province in northeast Argentina.

Its name means "currents" or "rapids" in Spanish.

The climate here is sub-tropical, with rainfall during the whole year, and summer is very hot.

The city attractions include wildlife-watching, hiking on a gallery-forest nature trail, and horseback riding. Launch tours on Laguna Iberá.

SANTA FESanta Fe is the capital city of the homonimous province. It is located in the mid-east of the country.

In summer, there is a dominant hot and humid air, in winter there is cold weather.

The main attractions are: Hunting, fishing, going on excursions, walks by the river, practicing water sports in Paraná River.

TRADITIONAL GASTRONOMY

Typical dishes are: "saskta", gallina al barro (mud-baked chicken). Ambrosia is another ideal dish for those with a sweet tooth.
