TO CELEBRATE & GIVE BACK TO OUR MEMBERS !
NETC invites you to celebrate our 40th
anniversary with the implementation of a new
recognition program.
In appreciation of our members’ accomplishments with their dogs, awards will now be
issued yearly for titles earned during the periods from November 1st
thru October 31st.
These will be awarded during our annual Christmas Party to any member whose dog(s)
earned a title from a recognized organization, (i.e. AKC, CKC, National Breed Club,
etc).
Please remember that a CGC is not a title.
To participate in this program, club membership will be required at the time the award
was earned and a copy of the certificate must be sent to the awards committee by
Labor Day Match Report 2010 The New England Terrier Club’s Labor Day Match was held on September 6th at Scott Rutherford’s grounds in Uxbridge, MA. The weather could not have been more perfect and the grounds were immaculate. Even though the club had not hosted this match the previous two years, 36 people (including 18 non-members) were able to attend. Sweepstakes Judge, Judy Hunter, was presented with an entry of 20 puppies, ranging in age from 3 – 15 months. The largest entry was in the 3-6 puppy class where 8 pups were judged. Across all the age groups, several breeds were represented, 6 Airedale, 4 Cairns, 3 each of Australians and Scottys, and one each of Dandy, Kerry, Norfolk and Welsh. There were no veterans entered. Best in Sweeps was awarded to the 9 month old Airedale bitch puppy, Amity, owned by Susan Rodgers and Shirley Good. Juniors were next, also judged by Judy Hunter. There were 3 entries in the PeeWee under 9, each showing Norwichs, and one each in Novice Jr 9-11 as well as Novice Intermediate 12-14. Best Jr was awarded to Ally Ridz, from the Novice Inter 12-14 class. This was followed by a brief break for lunch. The club provided cake, in celebration of both our 40th anniversary, as well as the first steps taken toward AKC recognition. Our Confirmation judge, Kathi Brown had a entry of 26 dogs, with Airedales accounting for 9 entries. The Cairns were next with 5, and we even saw our first Dandie in quite some time. Puppy Group results were 1st place to the Airedale # 210, Amity, the 9 month old bitch puppy that had been awarded Best in Sweeps, owned by Susan Rodgers & Shirley Good. 2nd place awarded to Cairn puppy #217 Hilltop Thunder, owned by Joe & Dora Keating. 3rd to Scotty #204 Stoneleigh Marvelous Maeve, owned by Susan Miley, and 4th to Parson Russell # 224 Jeep, owned by Pat Wilcox Adult Group #1 was awarded to Smooth Fox #221, Mo, a 4 year old male, owned by Mary Smith. 2nd place to Cairn #219, Falcroft On the Run owned by Peter & Lin Falat, 3rd place to Scotty #205, Rococo’s Macalister Grant owned by George & Mary Beth Grant, and 4th place to Welsh #215, Bremadog Like the Sun, owned by Karla Gilman. Best In Match was awarded to #221, the Smooth Fox Terrier, Mo, owned by Mary Smith. We would like to take a moment that thank everyone both on the board and off that worked so tirelessly to make this a successful event. Most of all we would like to extend our most sincere thanks to Scott Rutherford, for hosting this event. Without her hospitality, this event would not be possible. Sincerely, Lin Falat & Maureen Lee
