What does TALIS tell us?
One in four teachers in most TALIS countries lose at least 30% of their lesson time, and some lose more than half, due to classroom disruptions and administrative tasks.
High-quality instruction is reflected in the use of a variety of classroom teaching practices, yet only a minority of teachers across countries reports a frequent use of comparatively diverse teaching practices.
Teachers who receive recognition for good performance from their school leader or from colleagues report feeling more confident in their own ability as teachers.
